  1. I personally haven't coated any but I have guns a friend coated. He has done many guns and swears by this Duracoat. He buys from here I believe http://www.houtsenterprises.net/ He does the bake on and the bake on works on the laminate / plastic as well. Different process though, you do a lower temp longer bake time. Most of his parts he does in a small toaster over and they look awesome. Look as good as any store bought anyway. He actually has 2 of my new AR15 uppers and lowers right now coloring them.
  2. I'm sorry but that Zillion SV looks photoshopped to me. Reminds me of some of the pics you find on facebook where someone wanted to be thin.
  3. Mann´s 6" Jelly Worm in Grape Never let me down go to worm to this day.
  4. I would do one white and one black and a single colorado nickle blade 3/8 oz. When I was a kid all I could get was 1 or 2 spinner baits other than soft plastics. the colors were limited as well. A dark and a light work just fine I caught fish on both year round and never had a willow blade. Heck I never saw a willow blade for years.
  5. I agree with Toeshots. Sales are coming soon its nearing the end of January I hope I can be there on that day. I wouldn't mind have a couple at that price. I like fishing but not a fan of going nutz on a reel when these do just fine.
  6. Dead stick a neutral weight jerkbait as papajoe222 mentioned to do with crank baits might work. But I also don't fish deeper than 30-40 ft. so no idea after that.
  7. Isn't that irony? He was already spending excessively when he said Stella. I found it amusing that someone wanting not one but 2 $800.00 fishing reels was looking for a discount.
  8. No problem just trying to help a guy out. I paid like $59.00 +tax new and barely used it. It definitely is not hurt.
  9. Yes it will be tough at $100 without a deal. Ill send ya this reel I have for sale below. Its not a high dollar reel but its a d**n near new 7:1 ratio for $20 plus you pay shipping. And you pick up a rod like I showed ya and you will have a starter. You can upgrade the reel later of you want a higher dollar one. Contact St Croix and explain what you want and they will tell you what rod they recommend out of those on sale. I did that on my first rod from them and they were very helpful.
  10. What kind of a budget if any are you on? For about $200 you can get brand new or shop around and pick a reel up off the web for $50 to $60 bucks. I still dont think you can beat the Mojo rod for the money though. The Lews reels with a St Croix Mojo rod are great for the money or a Bass Pro Qualifier reel on a St Croix Mojo rod work very good for me. MOJO BASS CASTING RODS $90 for a nice rod is hard to beat. Also SPECIAL OFFER: FREE SHIPPING (USA ONLY) AND FREE MOJO HAT Lews SSG1SH or SSG1S either one are excellent for the $100.00
  11. I use a PQ on my St Croix flippin rod for now. I chose it because at the time it was one of two reels I currently owned that had the all aluminum frame. Also it had the highest gear 7:1. Its dependability is pretty well known so even though the drag isn't the stoutest It does do the job. I fish for fun so it wont cost me $ if I lose a bigun.
  12. Spro Aruku Shad Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap XCalibur Xrk50 That is what I carry. Not in any particular order I use them all equally with probably equal success.
  13. I have bought Pepper Spinner baits for $3.00 on clearance. And I know there were some War Eagle on clearance for $5.00 before at Walmart. I make it a routine to check the clearance spot for things like this when ever I am in there. If you want some to toss into nasty stuff the $1.00 China ones do work. And I doubt you can find any cheaper ones. Yes some people just cant fathom using them but they do catch fish. In the junk its not like the blades are going to be doing a lot of spinning anyway. I will say the better higher priced ones do run smoother the blades spin much better etc. I use these more where I know the blade spinning is actually part of the attraction not the reaction strike from it banging around off of junk. You can use spinner baits everywhere. They work in the junk, near lay downs, in the weeds, banging off rocks, and on open water deep and shallow. About the only places I don't use them is in mats. Some say they like windy days as the best days myself I use them year around cold, or hot, spring, or fall, summer, winter. I've fished them in the rain and wind and caught fish in every way I have tried them. Just my experience most common sizes I use are 3/8 oz or 1/2 oz. My preferred colors white, chartreuse, or a combination of the two are a very good combination and equally so would be black or a black blue mix. Colors are really similar to other baits as to what works in what conditions. Colorado smooth and hammered blades in nickle/chrome tend to be my more common blade types. Blade color and styles all have different effects and there are plenty of write ups on this is you do some searching. I do not use a training hook. Oh I mean a trailer hook. I refer to it like training wheels. Once you learn to fish the bait the right speed and set the hook at the right time you wont need that. Just look at it this way at 17 if you still had training wheels on your bike because you fell at age 3 or 4 go ahead and add the trailer hook.
  14. Never thought of actually weighing it. Probably better I not know, ☺ just guessing mine is close to yours.
  15. I did the same I just reordered some of my more go to colors even some I wasnt low on. Ill share with friends at that price.
  16. Dont have a clue about fish there but they caught one decent size here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Azm-ygHAFpY
  17. Looks like the colors are are versatile and a decent selection of stuff to me. Cant hardly go wrong with green pumpkin. I would like to see that Chatterbait elite Houdini color in real life I haven't seen it other than pics. Is it like a brown or more like copper or what?
  18. I'm sure someone else more professional than me can answer better but I like spinner baits and I throw them all times of the day with success. But like most any fishing morning and evening will generally get you the better results. . I do not use the trailer hook. Slow your presentation down if your out running the fish and or be a tad more patient setting the hook somewhat like frog fishing will cure most of the misses.
  19. That is how I play it if I am searching as to where to start. Works quite well actually.
  20. 4" Pit Boss in Vampire Orange here T-Rigged 4/0 punch hook with cheap Jewel Bait Hole Punch Punch Skirt in Missouri Craw color has been good to me. Weird weather we have been having I have had to hit them on the nose with it practically fish it slow slow slow lift n let drop seems to work. I do like the Green Pumpkin and I have used several white and blue colored ones called Molten Craw. Heck of a deal on them at TW right now like $1.75 a pack.
  21. JJs user here. Seriously it really isn't a good idea to use on small boats unless there is no wind period and your the only one there. (no one to rock it unexpectedly) Spilling the stuff literally could ruin a entire day of fishing. Depending on what or where it ended up. The stuff is very stout. It does an excellent job at what it was created to do though. My suggestion would be to dye several of your baits you think you may use prior to leaving to go fishing. I try to do this as part of my planning routine. You can always do a few more if one seems to be "the one" on shore or very carefully if the conditions are smooth on the boat. Seated at a table in the garage it seems to be a much smoother safer operation. A good suggestion is to make sure the lid is secured always and I keep mine in a ziplock bag as well for extra protection. I was going through some of my tackle yesterday (got new stuff to add) and was considering not carrying the JJs in my regular bag. I haven't been using it as much just because I have so much else and I haven't been having trouble getting fish without the hassle of it. Sure as i take it out I will be missing it. Decisions decisions.
  22. Sinko lover are you using the Strike King Rage Tail Baby Craw or the non baby version?
  23. Ahh I was just wondering I don't do a lot of jig fishing so maybe that is hurting my game. Thanks for the info.
  24. I use the NetBait Paca Chunks for trailers but I notice you preferred the Strike King Rage Chunk. May I ask why? I really like the Paca Craw myself.
  25. Well I haven't had much time to fish lately but tomorrow I'm going to a pond that is so heavy in cover it only has one 20 foot corner you can fish from the bank. And to about 20 ft out from the bank is grass and other vegetation. It's my dream hidaway. Trees leaning over and into the place just makes me excited knowing momma is in there. Well I had been seeing this little Uncle Buck's Pond Prowler Boat - 10' sitting for years. Anyway I asked the guy about it and bought it for $50.00. So I am really anxious to go in the morning. The weather doesnt look great but what do you guys think would be good baits to start with the water was really clear the last time I was there back mid summer.
