  1. Why not just have them pull one out and check it right there in store? I mean they just saw 2 identical issues they may have a bad batch they need to send back to save others the grief. I never owned a Tatula but their reputation is way better than that. I cant imagine this is normal. Also I am almost certain Daiwa would want to know.
  2. I agree Cat seems like everything else these days. One person says catch n release save the world and it hits social media and becomes some sort of law. Seems everyone got stupid over night and forgot people have been eating fish for ever. Not saying possibly some lake or ponds don't need that type of program but geez. At least check into it a little. Maybe just maybe your particular fishing spot needs fish removed. Blanket across the board save every bass isn't necessarily going to make everywhere have abundant nice size bass.
  3. Nothing is beyond being copied. I've seen everything from Fram oil filters, iPhones, to crank baits counterfeit. There is no reason to believe a fairly nice reel couldn't be copied. All you can do is research and use common sense. One word of advice from a fairly old experienced guy. If your mental alarm.is sounding that something seems fishy. Like the price way below the going rate. It has a good chance of being a scam of some sort. If you can't afford to take the 100% loss don't gamble.
  4. Exactly Yup no one can tell you what is comfortable to you. Try them out and see what works for you. Not sure but tackelwarehouse use to have a program to send you a reel to actually try. Might check on it as a option. It's very hard to mimic real world use in a store.
  5. Assuming you are on the fish since you said you can see them 1/2 the battle is done. All you have to do is offer the correct bait with the correct presentation to incite the bite. Work methodically through the baits like Sam suggested above. Keep plugging away at it eventually you will figure it out. If it was simple everyone could do it.
  6. That line should work. How full is the spool? Make sure it's not filled all the way to the edge. I'll leave about a 1/8" depending on the size of the spool and the design of the lip on it. Braid works awesome for me I see many talk about fish being frightened off the bite with no leader but I don't give bass that much credit and have no issue catching fish with no leader.
  7. Dont forget Lew's sells a excellent reel for $100 and the Tournament MG for just a few bucks more. Excellent reels for the $100 ish price point and can be found a good discounts if shopping around.
  8. Get you a couple basic bass lures. White 3/8oz spinner bait A simple Texas rigged worm (smaller gets more bites bigger less but generally bigger) Green Pumpkin is a known good universal color. Now toss away either or will do well if you have located the bass.
  9. Never used the flex seal stuff but if you have and have faith in it go for it. The only thing is if it doesn't work you have to clean it off and do it over. That being said is this your boat or a customers? If it's a customers or one your selling I think I would do the safer proven route.
  10. Haha that is the $64,000,000,000.00 question. Tungsten is secretly gold and priced as such. Right now my local Walmart has some on the clearance isle. The 3/16 oz in black or green pumpkin. 4 per pack for $5.00 Other than that it's pretty much hint and peck for a deals or sales for me.
  11. Mann's Jelly Worm 12" Usually Grape or Black Grape do well for me. I like the Offset Worm Hook or even a Flipping hook usually a 5/0 size might go as big as a 7/0. Texas rigged of course.
  12. I might have missed it if it's already been mentioned but on average a medium action rod seems to be more forgiving and seems to cast average weight baits (1/4, 3/8, 1/2 etc) quite far. I have seen this mentioned on several YouTube channels and experienced the same results.
  13. Looks like big spenders will do multiple orders or accounts. But 45% off is sweet. Those Pepper Custom Spinner baits are very nice.
  14. This one website may or may not exists without sponsors. But don't kid yourself into thinking that sponsors are the only way these places exist. There are millions of YouTube videos with not one person sponsoring diddly and the same with websites. Anyone with a desire to create content and is serious about it can do it pretty reasonably. Sponsors are a way to expand and put the $ in your pocket for your time and effort.
  15. I fault you guys for some of this. The YUM stick baits were brought up in another thread I think buy one get one free or some deal like that. One thread I saw mention they make a specific line for "casting" so I wanted to experiment. The Perko locks were for my boat I purchased about a month ago. The locks were no longer functional. Also only the rod locker and one large compartment in back locked. I wanted all large compartments to lock and the rod locker. Those are not cheap locks in my opinion. I ordered 2 locally and they were over $100 so I ordered these two on line for $30 each. The Fenwick crank bait rod is my second one as I wanted another once I tried the first one and found I liked it very much, especially for the money. The Fenwick Eagle is a Medium Fast 7' I will be putting together with a budget real I have for guests to fish with if they don't have a rod of their own.
  16. What you didnt know fishing poles and such were connected to skimpy outfits on girls? Your suppose to be watching the fishing not the bikini. You knew exactly what was in that bikini your eyes just couldn't refocus on the fishing. Yeah there is one I saw I won't mention a name but it's obvious what she and her bf are selling. Not that they can't fish but seriously fishing is #2 on the list. They see a opertunity to cash in and the little boys are lining up. Again if people don't like it use the mouse and click elsewhere like I have been lately.
  17. I just bought insurance on my boat from Progressive. It was cheap $225 for the year.
  18. I dont think you read this thread very well. The cost wasn't the topic. It was reports of issues with the transom cracking and warranties being potentially voided on these particular boats. Some were having issues with just a 150hp engine and no PP/Talons involved.
  19. When is the lash happening early, middle or late in the cast? Early spool tension knob tighter End go with the brakes. Middle use the thumb.
  20. I think someone has one for sale in the Flea Market here or did have. My mistake he just wants to trade only.
  21. Wouldn't make a hill of beans difference. Once the guy starts touting his sponsors names where he use to be fishing and being the average laid back guy that you watched for a year or two. It would be more than obvious what was going on.
  22. I was just watching some videos on this and some are using coatings with a grit in them. Something like paint with sand in it but it wasn't sand. They raved about how it works so good. It did look awesome as far as cleaning with a hose should be a snap. But I was thinking about my knees and was like not a chance.
  23. Yeah usually split shot (small) weights are used in calm or slow moving water. They help hold the bait down and depending on the bobber type can help keep it positioned and upright. This is usually on a slip bobber not a round cork bobber. Also as said when fishing current it can assist in keeping the bait where you want it.
  24. Just to clarify I wasn't saying Gene was flat out lying. What I am saying is once you accept a sponsor the agreement is you are selling their products. Now if you can understand that then you can understand that his opinion on said products is now biased and not necessarily the most accurate representation of the products in his hands. In other words he can't be brutally honest as it was before. He can't come out and say they are junk compared to x brand. Remember he quit his job so this is now a job to make money for him selling. The idea he is teaching the world how to fish is paying his check is a joke. If that was the case he wouldn't have needed sponsors and could have quit his day job at any time. I know some here are young and you might not understand what or how sponsors work. So now days it might be in your best interest to get a unbiased review or two as his videos were before making YouTube his job. I personally don't care if he sells what ever as has been said click next if you don't like it.
