  1. I see where that may be interpreted that way. But to me if someone was going to log info this technology just made a lot more stuff to possibly include in a log. Again depending on how in depth the person doing the logging wants to get. Since you can see a ton more as the fellas describe in the link you provided. The entire setup(s) used rod, reels, line, lures, retrieve speed, lucky hat, and water clarity to name a few could be included into a log. A fishing log can include as much or as little detail as you choose, but the more information you track, the more useful it ultimately becomes. I don't have one of the thousands of dollar units and they may have software to enter these parameters but someone still has to put the info in there. Or can the new fish finders detect a 1/2oz spinnerbait, its brand, its skirt color, the head color, number of blades, size of blades, style of each blade, what brand of trailer, style of trailer, was there a trailer. See my point. Fishing logs are to give you greater insight into why a fish was caught as well as where to find the fish. All that being said I hunt pretty much with no electronics as mine are really old and basically show depth and occasionally some fish and some structure along with the water temp. I never had that stuff my whole life fishing from the bank and did good enough for me. And no I don't log anything I fish to relax not go back to school writing pages and pages of info.
  2. Never clean it. But I haven't had my boat that long. Also it stays pretty clean getting flushed out now and then.
  3. Watch eBay I just picked up a 3 1/2" White Silver Prism for $4.10 at my door.
  4. Guess they assumed professionals would just know exactly what was best for what.
  5. reel - Lews Tournament MB rod - Fenwick HMG GT 72M-F-CB 7'2" 1/4-1oz Lure 8-20lb Line lure - RAW08-271 from http://www.rawoutdoorsinc.com/ line - 12 lb Big Game mono in Coastal Brown bass - 6.25 lbs (just started keeping weights this year) date - May 25, 2016 lake - Pat Mayes

  7. This ^^^ Heck I use 12# Big Game mono on many of my reels. Unless your just going deep into some heavy vegetation or some crazy stuff why would you need so heavy of a line? People catch bass on as low as 6# some on 4#. Seriously think about this, who is dragging in 10# fish on average fishing days. The average catch is less than 3# using 12 to 15lb will easily handle 90% of the average fishing and is much more manageable on the reel.
  8. Baby Bass Crystaglow on the Mann's Baby 1-Minus. This color has worked for me in muddy, green or brown stained, and pretty clear water. Cloudy, clear, raining, and at night. Not so sure its all the color as this bait does rattle but it has been a great producer since spring of this year it hasn't let me down.
  9. I know this isn't the exact same thing but it very well could be in some cases. I've mentioned it in a couple a threads where the OP would state he confronted someone for what ever reason. People now days play for keeps, even when not intoxicated, and you should respect that if you don't want to end up in a body bag or in one of these court cases. Just avoid the idiot and call the authorities if you feel they need attention. Wonder if Mr. Thomas Mast even cares what a idiot he made of himself or who he endangered. Most likely not.
  10. Id bet most on this thread are listing their #1. Then again maybe not. You know how secretive them fishermen are. I do like the DT lures as well but I am a plastic guy. 8”Jelly Worm® from Mann’s Bait Company all day.
  11. Since I can fish almost every day I generally skip the rougher days. Where I like to fish generally has trees and tree stumps and a lot of them. You really don't want to be the ping pong boat.
  12. I'll send ya some to try if you pm me your address. I think you will be surprised.
  13. You need to check out the Forum sponsor BizzBait. Their Sassy Stick is just as good imho
  14. I don't think it's totally unreasonable but yes I believe it is on the light side as well. Well that is fine until you snap a tip off your rod. I have never done this but I have read of this happening enough to believe using the recommended specs from the manufacturer would be wise. Also when looking to purchase that is when you typically buy the correct tool for the job. Shopping online doesn't always allow for a hands on casting practice session at the lake so it is important that the specs be correct in the ad.
  15. Yesterday I was considering the Heavy 7'6" Aetos but the low 1 oz max lure rating had me asking the similar question. So I asked them if it was a error since their HMG heavy rod was more and other similar rods as well. Here is exactly the response I got today from them. Thank you for contacting Fenwick and your continued interest and loyalty to our brand. That is the correct lure rating for that rod and yes it is lighter than some other heavy rods. The power for one design of rod does not always reflect the same sensitivity, feel, and strength of another design of rod. If you have any further questions feel free to contact us again. Thank you, Fenwick Customer Service Jr

  17. Just my opinion its BS. But probably could have got $100K if it hadn't had the "minor scratches". Ever hear of the internet? Well don't believe everything you see, read, or hear on it.
  18. Are you absolutely positive? Fish do not have human eyes nor do they have human brains. Maybe they can see colors way better or worse in water with fish eyes and a fish brain. We obviously have never figured out bass exactly. Look at the enormous amount of different colors and shapes of lures and nearly all will catch bass at some point but everyone knows not every time.
  19. Kind a like telling your best friend not to get married. Statistics say bad bad bad idea unless your into mental torture, pain, and suffering. He will get married anyway.
  20. Well he does actually seem to understand some reads and seems to have a good arm. I like his size and mobility. But its a whole different ballgame when the other team is game planning for you. Not saying he cant handle it and having a good team around him will help but time will tell. I'm glad he is looking great maybe we will luck into a Romo replacement. The other backup stiffs we have had couldnt win at grade school ball.
  21. Definitely make sure your within the lure weight range on your rod. Preferably near the middle of the range. A good matched setup will do wonders for casting. A medium action to might help more. I don't throw them much but the 5" version I have no problems casting on my baitcast setups. I use a simple 12 lb Big Game mono line with Lew's reels. Usually a MH F rod.
  22. Texas and Oklahoma. But hey Texas is bigger than your average state. It should count as 4 on its own. ??
  23. I agree ^^^ By the stats Lew's is hands down better. For the subjective things like feel in your hand, if you really like a heavier reel, like a heavier clunk when first starting to reel, less bearings, less drag, or less adjustments is up to the individual. I actually am waiting on a tatula I picked up off eBay just for this reason. I wanted to fish one to know for myself what I thought. It's going to have to give my one BPQ company because the rest of my arsenal is all Lew's. I'm most likely biased. ?
  24. My point was that every single person who pays for the top end of performance does have different priorities. If you haven't seen in life where a guy with money bought a new toy based on looking for recognition acceptance or just plain to show off and didn't have a clue how to even use it you havent been around long. That doesnt mean that it is wrong but when the OP is stating That to me is a sign $ isnt falling out of trees for the fella. Maybe he is driving a few lambos, and porche? Really didnt care it was a hypothetical.
  25. I've had my Lew's Tournament MB for some time and see no reason to ditch a well built, great fit to the hand, top quality company, perfectly working reel. You know the grass is always greener on the other side until you get there and find it has dog crap all over it. I did score a Tatula on eBay the other day. Just for a similar reason. I wanted to try one just to see if it was all that. I somehow feel its a huge hype on these being the greatest reel known to mankind. Oh I know they must be a quality reel or there wouldn't be the following they have. I just like you wanted to do my own evaluation on the water on my rod catching fish and see if I liked the feel. I will know for myself by this weekend I hope.
