I am still trying to get my chatterbaits to produce like a spinnerbait. I keep hearing its the replacement for spinnerbaits but right now Ill take one white spinnerbait to 10 chatterbaits any day of the week. Guess its a confidence thing. But I swear I have nearly blanked a few days trying to make myself use chatterbaits. One day I am sure it will pay off. I dislike trailer hooks period but some swear by them. There are 50 ways 50 different people say the dang trailer hook should be as well so if you decide to use one good luck with what is the "correct" way to hang it on there. As for plastic trailers for years I never used them at all and now I'm about 50% of the time with a small plastic trailer. Lately the Lucky E Strike Baby Bug in white has been a good inexpensive bait to slip on. Just make sure your skirt isnt interfering with the action of the plastic tail.

^^^ this And ^^^ this for me as well. My fishing for ever has been 80% or more soft plastics. Only this year have I even come close to lowering that % and I am not sure I have. I can say other than " confidence" many plastics work just as well as others. Mann's is one of my all time worm baits just because I cut my teeth with them. But like scaleface said there are many others that I can catch fish with. As for a craw NetBait Paca Craw and the Baby Paca craw are my go to craws. These are durable, 25 to 30 or so colors, and have a middle of the ground action that can be slow rolled and get a gentle flutter, or burned and get a pretty fast action. Other than some of the stick baits most plastics aren't horribly bad about tearing up real easy. To me maybe BioSpawn is probably the next worst in durability besides GYCB. Mentioning the Senko style baits I still say the forum sponsor BizzBaits Sassy Stick is a excellent copy.

I just hire a professional now days. It's safer for those around me. Tools fly a long ways every now and then when I do plumbing. LOL

Well the part I didn't explain was I hack or glue every piece so nothing is returnable. Almost as if I do not on purpose.

Hold em, 5 or 7 Card Stud and/or Draw, and Spades. We would play hold em every other weekend with a $20 buyin and a $10 buy back till midnight. We would start about 8pm with loads of whisky and usually 10 to 15 players. I had friends crashed out all over the place. Was great fun when your young.

Typical in this day it's a throw away world. But I'm surprised a factory rep would suggest that unless it was a really inexpensive model to start with. I guess it could be the cost of repair could be so great it would be cheaper to buy a new on. Or possibly parts are no longer available. I have a older than that Motorguide and hope it lasts forever. These things are expensive. Good luck maybe someone else will chime in with good information for you.

I feel that same exact response every time I hear there are days fish will only eat a GYCB.

I didn't see anywhere it was mentioned either. But on that page you gave a link to all the way at the bottom they have a "Ask a expert" thing where you can ask them anything you want to know. The best part is there should be no question what ever answer you get will be the correct one. Unlike asking in a forum where who knows maybe a dealer rep answers maybe a 15yr old answers.

Because of the price I usually only buy less than 50 weights. So it's not to hard to sit down at the table in good light and inspect each one. You can use a piece of line run through them and visually holding up to the light. So far I haven't had a issue with the 3 to 4 different places I have bought from. Just check them just like you do hook points, reel grease/oil, rod eyes, etc and there won't be a issue. If there is return them or fix them before taking them on your fishing trip.

I dont know why, a lot of companies do a lot of the crazy pricing they do. I have seen some ludicrous pricing over the years on products that were identical other than the wrapper. I worked at the company and know first hand the packaging was the only difference. As long as people think they are getting something better they kept selling them that way. As far as the 2 rods I don't have them to hold so that part I cant compare. That is why manufacturers should be listing the features that will help sell the products and show where one is worthy of the higher price point. As for if they are using the same SCIII blank unless the people making these rods have royally screwed up it states on their website right here on their BLANK MATERIALS GUIDE page SCIII - Featured in Avid Series®, Avid X, Avid Pearl, Mojo Bass, Avid Series® Inshore, Avid Series® Surf rods. Maybe they are considering the 10 more years of warranty on the AvidX along with this listed different from the Mojo Bass in the Features to justify the price? I dont know about a catch but I agree the reviews of the new Mojo rods are pretty good across the board from what I have read.

I'm still catching plenty of fish with worms, creature baits, jigs, and crankbaits that really buying more lures right now is a waste. I cant use all the lures I have now and get mad at myself for taking so many. I have to start cutting my tackle back to a single bag. So no I haven't bought the latest craze and probably wont. At least not for some time unless it shows up in my LTB. And if that is going to happen it better be soon. I got to stop getting these lures.

I'm not saying I am correct I am asking for clarification of what WPCfishing is stating. Because based on what St Croix is advertising it sure looks like its the same. I am no expert on any rod blanks I just read and try to from reliable sources like the manufacturer. I was thinking maybe he was thinking of the older Mojo Bass rods?

I can respect a fighters ability but to me the minute it was promoted on TV it became "fake wrestling" all over again. It had nowhere to go. Unless you get into the soap crap (circus) it gets irritating. When it was new it drew a lot of attention but when filling seats becomes the business it isn't the same to me. Whats different? Where one is made vs another doesn't necessarily mean its not the same does it? BigMacs are made all over the world still a BigMac. ^^^ This I'm probably 95% weighted though. About the only worm I do weightless is the Senko style (cigar style) worm and possibly the 12" worms. I rarely fish the Senko style considering all the other plastics I like more. A 5/16 oz tungsten worm weight allows me to really cast a long ways and still have a lot of options. I can still reel it fast enough to keep it in the upper water column. Its heavy enough I can fish and feel the bottom. And Its still able to be swam all in between.

I have had excellent luck with the Bluegill color from Siebert. The color looks awesome and has exceeded expectations on how well it works. They are sucking it up so good I have hooks coming out under their eyes. I see no reason for more than 4 colors maybe 2 or 3 if your fishing the same places over and over. I am placing a order for more Dredge Brush jigs myself tomorrow. That 5/0 hook on the 3/8 oz should be excellent. I have Bama Craw, Sweet Craw, Falcon Lake Craw, and Bluegill ones in my cart now.

Used for double fluke rigs. As for line I've seen used on all types of line.

This topic came up before and someone here was using a digital scale off eBay that was really inexpensive. I actually was going to look for it but didn't ever find it before I lost the thread. So far I have never had a digital scale so hopefully this thread offers some up to date ideas. I want one.
