  1. Same here fishing as the sun just shows up has better results for me. But as far as a personal preference I enjoy both as long as I'm fishing it's all good..
  2. I don't fish really light finess stuff so a ML is out of the question for me. It's MH /F for most of my T rig stuff. I have used a Medium / Moderate on some smaller stuff and some sinko fishing where I used a lighter wire hook.
  3. Cheesefrank loves Shimano you guys quit picking on his brand.
  4. Flippin and Pitchin are reaction strike presentations. You can use the general bait color rules and be fine. General starting point might be dark color in muddy low vis water, bright like chartreuse in stained water, and maybe a white or watermelon in clear waters. So take your pick get a dark color, a bright color, and a light color, and you should be set. Brand is whatever your best friend convinces you of. Personally the Pit Boss and Devil's Spear are shapes that punch through cover well. Also are very cost friendly, have tons of colors, and are durable. I wouldn't get really hung up on specifics as this is a reaction strike presentation. It's not like the bass are inspecting it for the perfect size, color, smell, or any other attribute like other presentations. And if you are leaving it there long enough for the bass to discuss it you were there too long.
  5. I'm not against anyone doing it their way so don't take my way as gospel. Most here seem to be somewhat close or a loose variation of what others are doing anyway. These are just what I use and it works for me. 2 regular plain old bobber stops. I have no issues with 2 slipping. I've started using strips for pegging my weights recently and liking it so far too. 4/0 5/0 or 6/0 straight shank Flippin hook depending on plastic I am using. I use the snell knot (very easy to learn) and it may or may not be a advantage but I like it. Usually around 50lb strait braid but I don't see 40lb or 80lb making a difference. Sure tungsten is nice but I have been using lead 3/4 to 1.5 oz (still legal here) Berkley Pit Boss and Devil Spear both punch just fine for me and are very reasonable priced baits especially on sale. I punch both ways sometimes I use a skirt sometimes I don't. I use whatever way the fish are hitting it. I use a Mojo 7'11" Heavy/Mod. Fast Flipping stick. I really like having that length and the rod has some good backbone. I'm using a old BPQ in 7.1:1 ratio with the drag locked down. Probably not the best reel for this but it has worked great.
  6. ^^^ lacking no spinner bait list is complete with out Stanley ?
  7. Berkley Big Game Solar Collector works for me on everything even toads. Although braid is probably better.
  8. Most of mine are Pepper Custom but I know a guy that catches tons of bass on the $1.00 Walmart ones. Mini zip ties are awesome to secure the skirts on the Walmart ones. No as I said a guy that fished with me uses almost nothing but $1 ones and catches fish just like anyone else. Don't "need" a trailer hook. I don't but some do. Trailer maybe sometimes. Keitech although I rarely use a trailer on spinner baits. I would suggest sticking to 3 main colors White, Black, Chartreuse I would opt for 1/2oz and 3/8oz sizes starting out. These are my most popular and will cover most any situation. Plano makes a 3700 series box that I use for storage. 1/2 oz is the biggest I suggest to use in it. Any size smaller like 3/8 oz it would work awesome. Get rid of the leader no matter what line you select. Your just creating another chance for error. I use straight Big Game mono because it works for me and inexpensive. 20lb on average and don't have issues. Some think a trailer hook is a must. But honestly if you're bass fishing and you keep hooking on that trailer you need to change you presentation. The fish caught like that are telling you SLOW DOWN. Obviously they aren't that aggressive to be attacking it as fast as your presentation is. Think how many didn't even bother to try and swipe at your lure because you were smoking it past. I think this happens a lot all these high speed reels now days pull a lot of line per revolution. Keep that in mind depending on what your using.
  9. Personally there are plenty of good rods in the $100-$150 range and plenty of time proven good reels in the same price range. Sure you can drop $500 on a rod and it might be slightly more sensitive but you will never catch every fish and the difference between a quality mid range rod and the top end rod in #s of fish will most likely be a small % gain if any. Just don't expect that $50K new boat, $500 dollar rods, $500 reels, or $500 swimbaits to catch more fish just because it's advertized as the greatest, people say on forums you have to have it, or because its new. Case and point is look at what nearly every post on this page is saying in this thread they were there, bought the good stuff, and now that they are older more mature and understand it's not always about the high dollar stuff. You still have to know what you're doing.
  10. 4" jointed swimbait from LTB. Little over 6lb. LMB out of Pat Mayse Lake.
  11. Two things You could also avoid this by buying a all aluminum boat. I did to avoid any chance of that crud happening to me. That pic says that the chainsaw is working great. Might list the saw for sale with the pic saying works great.
  12. Too much but like others some is discontinued I stocked up on. Some is duplicates of lures I use a lot and want to have spares immediately accessible. And some were MTB or LTB stuff I immediately said not for me and tossed into a old large Plano 4 tray box. Its almost full by the way with all new lures as well as several of the Steril(sp) plastic bins around here.
  13. I don't fish these exact worms much as I don't do finesse but here are a few places I found to have some specific commentary and info on hooks for each worm. Here is a article for the FINESSE worm http://bassfishingdem.blogspot.com/2009/08/zoom-finesse-worm.html Here is a article for the MAGNUM FINESSE worm http://www.***/outdoors/***/story/1464435-zoom-magnum-finesse-worm-uses Well the link for the MAGNUM FINESSE gets butchered here so I'll quote the part on the hooks.
  14. Never heard of them so I can't help ya. What bait exactly could they possibly have that can't be found at any number of other more secure shopping places?
  15. So that is why my aspirin was $100.00 Had they just said buy the Doc a Finochietto 10+ inch surgical needle holder so he can safely remove hooks from gut hooked fish I would have been much more understanding.
  16. The most common reels that have proven to be quality reels that can be had new in the $100 range or less are the Daiwa Tatula, BPQ, and the Lew's Speed Spool LFS. Just search these forums and those three seem to have been discussed for eternity. All three of these reels are excellent reels for the $ and have a long history to prove it. Great choice I have several of them and they have took a beating and still are going strong.
  17. I'm no fan of the slime and stink either. Please keep the Havoc line of the Pit Boss. I also use them heavily. I use them as trailers for just about everything.
  18. I'd disagree with the luck part. Skill part yeah he is a good QB but change some of these non skill factors and let's see how successful he would have been. Put him on some of these other teams like the Browns, Jets, Jaguar's, etc and have coaches like Rex or Jeff Fisher. Put him in a different situation and I'm not so sure he does any better than say Luck is doing in Indy. Heck he may not have any titles had he not luckily landed where he did. I'll even go one step further. Dak was lucky as can be to have ended up where he is. What rookie QB inherited a astounding O line a killer RB and a experienced veteran QB who is all about the team willing to help his replacement be successful. And a offensive minded ex QB head coach. Doesn't mean Dak is bad but all that luck fell right in his lap making his transition so much easier.
  19. I did read some stuff recently with the corporation that owns Berkley and several other brands was possibly breaking up being sold off, employees were being laid off etc. or something to that effect. Not sure if that is or will affect the supply of baits though.
  20. I have that rod as well and it works well.
  21. Windy and cloudy is a great spinnerbait day.
  22. I seriously doubt there will be much if any competition for the guy. But considering the absurdity of Jeff Fisher's record as bad as it was for as long as it was I'd be unwilling to say that even Jeff Fisher was done.
  23. These pretty much cover all my shallow cranking that aren't "square" bills. Mann's 1 minus is my all time favorite shallow bait in Baby Bass Crystaglow color. I do have some KVD 1.5 and other random square bills but seem to have equal or better results with these. Mann's 1 minus 0-1 ft. Bomber Shallow A 0-1 ft. Bomber Square A 0 – 3 ft. Bandit Footloose .5–1 ft. Bandit 100 2–5 ft.
  24. How did you make up 3000 t rigged worms? I'm trying to picture how this is done seriously. Do you have worms rigged with hooks and a leader line pre rigged with a weight in like ziplock bags? As close as I ever came was I had purchased some hooks thinking they were like 3-5 in a pack supposedly came with bullet weights. Turned out it was 1 hook and 1 bullet weight per pack. Taught me to not go so fast on the internet ordering. The only texas pre rigged worm is on my rods.
