  1. After some confusion on sending my old rod in (not their fault) all was good.they sent me a replacement of the same rod in the new model. Was actually a upgrade as the new rod is a better rod from my use of it so far it's lighter and seems more sensitive. I would have no problem sending in my other older Aetos if it has the same issue but so far it's not showing signs of having the same issue.
  2. I used their sizing chart to get mine pretty close. http://www.frabill.com/size-chart
  3. Well I'm 6'1" and 255 so maybe the XL jacket will be right. Sounds good on the material also. Thanks for the heads-up.
  4. According to the Stik Boat website, the MSRP is $6850 Weight of Stik Boat: 250 lbs I'm no yak guy but aren't these variables the ones I see constantly see as the points that make a yak great in reverse? I mean its no longer the little light weight boat a guy can throw on top of his ricer by himself/herself. And it sure is not the dirt cheap means to be in the water. Won't they now also have to be registered? Possibly now a trailer? Im sure there will be some that love these and think they are great.
  5. Just ordered the F2 Surge Bib and Jacket. Less than $100 for gear that retails near $300 is freakishly good if it's all good stuff. I just never used Frabill and have no clue if this is to much or just right. But I will see soon. Thanks for the tip.
  6. My old suit seemed to shrink right in the gut section and grow bigger in the rear end. I know this because a belt has less and less to hang on to each year and the jackets get tighter and tighter near the bottom. I never used Frabill brand but after seeing the sale price vs reg price on the sale posted for wingsupply.com I figured I would give some a shot. I just ordered the bibs and jacket in the F2 Surge style. Im hoping these are not going to be super warm. Texas generally you don't need a lot of heat. Based on retail of near $300 and I got it shipped to my door for $91 is kind a spooky but maybe it was because it was green.
  7. I'd do the same probably as hunterPRO1 and put the Abu Garcia Black Max on one of the Berkley Cherrywood HD 7' MH rods. From what I have read on line about the BPS Prolite Special So I might consider putting them on the 2 Falcon FC 4-16 6' M rods if I finesse fished. Abu Garcia Ambassadeur S3600c on the other Berkley Cherrywood HD 7' MH maybe? As for the Shakespeare Ugly Stik SCL1101 5' L I do next to zero that I could use a light rod with a baitcaster. Maybe someone else has a better plan. I just don't finesse fish for bass.
  8. This ^^^ Or if its brand new and purchased at a local store just take it back and exchange it. I mean a obvious defect should be a easy exchange at the store. I have several of the $99 LFS reels and they are a great reel with a good track record. But like all mechanical things mass produced occasionally a stepchild gets out the door.
  9. I haven't used the Carbonlite 2.0 but I have a couple other BPS reels and I have many of the Lews. I can see in the pic they look very similar and may be, but of the BPS reels I have don't feel like the Lew's Tournament MBs in my hand. Comparing stats from BPS and Lew's website about the only noticeable difference to me is one has and the other has Oh and one claims while the other claims The pictures really don't show a huge difference in the spool to me. I would have to go Lew's just based on I am not fond of EVA that companies like to stick on everything. Also I have had a stellar experience with Lew's customer service. Not saying BPS customer service is bad I have never dealt with them but polite and fast free parts and free reel repair and shipping is really hard to beat. I have seven Lew's reels and they all have been excellent reels aside from a single Ebay used reel that had me use the Lew's customer service I spoke of. I am sure either reel will fish just fine though.
  10. If they are anything like the ones I have it sure can't hurt. I completely understand that perspective. But these are in my opinion in need of some protection. They are extremely easy to scratch from anything. To me any length of time in a Plano box they would have nearly no paint.
  11. As far as American Legacy Fishing not calling. I had some confusion on my part as I got a email saying my order shipped etc. Well they hadn't contacted me either so I emailed them and apparently the Diesel rods don't necessarily ship from the same place. Or at least that was what I understood. But that was when they started asking me about what rod I wanted. I would just email them or call the employees I have dealt with have been extremely nice. My rods are in the mail to me.
  12. I have been using 30 lb J Braid on my baitcasting reels. It has .011 diameter and seems to work well and it is very reasonably priced.
  13. I like Zoom baits as well. However since I like worms as a mainstay I have had issues with the 12" ones being brittle and breaking where the hook comes through almost on every fish. That being said it's the only issue I have had with their baits. I would not want to.be limited to any one company regardless of how good they may be currently. I like my Netbait Paca Craws, Havoc Pit Boss baits, and Culprit is my favorite 12" worm.
  14. I hope it all works out. I was going to order at least 2 rebates worth but then I recalled how some of my rebates worked in the past. 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 10 weeks, 14 weeks, a year later, and now many years later I have yet to even hear from some companies much less get a check from them. Several were $100 rebates to. I know in this case it's no great loss if they don't pay back but its the principal.
  15. I just ordered a Inferno from them and before I ordered I called to verify it was still a deal. The man that answered said yes they would contact me after they received the order to see what Diesel rod I want. I didn't think to ask what choices were still available.
