  1. I got some mods done on the Raider before the season started. I added some under seat storage that holds 11 3600 size boxes. I also made a set of stake out poles that will swivel down and lock to the side of the boat. I am chomping at the bit to get out on the water. More Pics
  2. I did not think of the guides getting damaged with the swivel, I am so used to the $ 30 rod it did not cross my mind. Thank you for saving me from me lol
  3. Thank you everyone for the info and insight. I think I will try my hand with Braid in the 15 to 20 lb range in yellow, might help with the old man eyes. Thinking a 4=6' Leader of mono leader with a Barrel swivel in between.
  4. Hello Fisherman, I am setting up a spinning rod for weightless and light weight plastics. My set up is a Shimano Vanford 3000 paired with the new St Croix Legend Tournament Bass 7'1" MF but I an not sure what line to pair with it because I have never used anything but Mono. I will fish it around all cover from open water to beaver dams if that helps. I fish from a Bass Raider 10e if that matters also. This is my first nice setup and don't want to ruin with bad line. any help and advice is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks Eric
  5. I was just about to get the 7'1 MF Victory to pair with a vanford 3000 spinning for weightless plastics, then I saw this coming out so I really want to see the new legend bass. I can't find a weight on it anywhere, I know the Victory is 3.4 oz.
  6. Have a question on the Bullnose Rudder for my 10e. I run a DIY rudder on the back with the motor up front and it works great, the plan is to replace to DIY rudder with the Bullnose but it is 1/2 the with of the DIY rudder " Bullnose is 12 x 6 and DIY is 12 x 12" Will the Bullnose be enough to keep me tracking straight ? has anyone else used just the bullnose on the back ? Thanks for all your time and info Eric
  7. Took the new set up out on the water today and I am very happy with the rod it is very sensitive and the reel is nice but will need some practice, but all in all I am very happy with the whole set up.
  8. Thank you everyone for your insight, I had a chance to get to the local trading post and put hands on a few set ups a lot sooner that I thought I would and what I felt was the most compatible in my hands was the Curado 200HG paired with a 7'3" MH/F St Croix Victory. I put 17lb mono on it which feels like rope but I figured it would be more forgiving for a noob. I took it out in the yard with a old spinner bait and chucked it around a bit and OH MY GOD I am in love I don't know if I will ever go back to Spinning reels
  9. Hi All, I am looking for some insight, I am looking to get my first casting setup and I am a bit over whelmed with all the choices. I fish for bass in NH off a small boat and would like to stay in the $400 range. I have a Shimano spinning set up for plastics so I am looking to compliment that. from what I have read a good all around gear ratio is 7.X.1 and I think I am looking for a 7-7'6" MH/F as for a reel that is so hard to choose I have read and watch videos on Shimano and Daiwa but I am open to anything as a beginner. Thanks for all your insight in advance Eric
