  1. Also my reel gas 12 pounds of drag. So that will help. I'm really impressed with it so far. Here's a link if you want to check it out. KastKing Royale Legend High Speed Profile Baitcasting Fishing Reel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010MAVNYY/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_3k2pwb82QBX23
  2. Thank for the input. I am definitely gonna put some low test mono before the backing. Hopefully I won't get spooled by anything in the first place.
  3. I have recently bought a kastking royale legend. It got overwhelming good feedback and is very cheap. I have been researching whether or not to put backing on my reel and have come up with mixed responses. So here is my question. I am going to put on around 40 pound braid on a Spool with holes, do I need backing? Thanks for the help. P.s. Do you think 200 yards of line is enough for a big red drum?
  4. Looking for some fairly nice baitcasters for pretty cheap. Mainly plan to use it for bass and maybe some Trout or slot sized reds. Any specific reels in mind? Definitely under the $100 range. A $60 one is ideal. Thanks for your help.
  5. Thank you for all your help. Shout out to diawa. I called them and they sent my the parts for free
  6. Just wanted to see if anybody had an opinion on this reel and if it is any good.
  7. If you find a complete kit. Let me know because I haven't found anything.
  8. I recently have received a 153A - Triforce-Z, but the only problem is the Spool Tension Knob is missing. I have searched online and have found the reel but not just the Knob. Is the Spool Tension Knob just a regular cap and can I go to a hardware store or eBay and buy a cap that fits or do I need washers and a special cap made specifically for the reel. I have looked at my other baitcaster which are really junk, but the cap doesnt fit. If you type in Spool Tension Knob on eBay so many items come up but I am worried that they won't fit. PLEASE HELP!!
  9. I have heard that that there are a ton of catfish in a nearby pond but nobody has fished for them in a couple of years. So recently i have decided that i would try to catch one. So I go out to the pond early in the morning and put a hook on with a couple of weights and then put a 1 inch piece of slim Jim on and just sit there around an hour just waiting and nothing. I have been doing this for around a week and nothing. About 10 years ago I remember catching them with slim Jim. But so far nothing. And as far as I'm aware nobody has seen any catfish on top of the water. So my question is. Did one spawning season did all of their eggs get eaten by bass or bream or could they have died out without anybody seeing? Please help me figure out if I'm jsut wasting my time.
  10. So they are good, but not just amazing, or are they pretty terrible.
  11. So recently I have been looking for a nice baitcaster reel. It so happens that while cleaning g out my garage I found a Abu Garcia, Black Max 1. It says on the side that it has 2 ball bearings and an intstant anti-reverse mechanism. To me it just looks like a basic baitcaster reel, no special round bail or anything. After looking in the internet, I have not been able to find the product at all. All that comes up is the Black Max 2. Has anybody heard of this reel before and does it sound like a good product?
  12. But I have had great luck with Senkos
  13. I have been trying topwater for the past two weeks or so and nothing. I have a popper and a couple prop baits, frogs.... Nothing, not a single bite. I don't know what it is. Maybe the bass just don't like topwater in this pond.
  14. Is white with two willow blades a good combination for murky water because the only other blades I have is a single Calarado that is attached to the mini Strike King. Or maybe one Calarado blade with one willow blade
  15. I have been reading up on spinnerbaits and am debating on buying some trailer hooks. I also have purchased a KVD white spinnerbait with two willow blades and am looking forward to trying them out.
  16. Just got some 5" name brand Senkos and a Mini Strike King Midnight with Calarado Blades. Going to try them out in a small river, wish me luck.
  17. Do you think a chatterbait would work good?
  18. No, I have not thrown a senko. Are they expensive. Also, with a spinnerbait, would I need to buy some trailer hooks.
  19. Will a bass still strike a frog even though there is no grass or lilypads on top
  20. I have tried fishing up close to the banks with no luck the pond was dredged so the banks are super shallow. I also only have two topwater baits; a frog and popper. Which do you think is better.
  21. My neighbor has a small pond around 2-3 acres and I have recently started to fish in this pond. Lately I have been fishing for around 2 hours and only catching one bass. The pond has low visibility. I can only see around 1 foot on the bank. To fish, I use either a dark purple 4" worm or a square billed watermelon colored crankbait. There is no trees or any structure at the bottom that I am aware of although there are trees that shade the outside of the pond during some parts of the day. There are only largemouth bass and small bream. The bottom is lined with leaves making it hard to use crankbaits. On one side of the pond there are a bunch of small rocks that line the edge but still can't catch much there. I am aware that bass like weed beds and drop offs but I do not know how to find them. Would anybody recommend anything to maximize the fish caught?
