Pretty much same here, I use 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 ounce ds weights mostly. I don't really understand why Aaron Martens' go-to is 1/8, on most days 3/16 ounce is the lightest I go and maintain enough bottom contact.
I like this one:
"Imagine that you’re a fish, darting around your watery home and finding tasty snacks to enjoy. Now, imagine that you bite into one of those snacks and suddenly feel searing pain as a sharp hook rips through your mouth."
I wonder how those "tasty snacks" feel as they're being eaten by the fish.
Cool I've never thought of it that way before but it does make sense. I have had trouble getting the size 4 hooks out of 3 and 4 lbers, bent a couple that I was able I bend back into place but it could've injured the fish.
I like the dirty jigs HD swimbait heads for larger 4 1/2"-6" paddle tails and a-rigs. The keitech super round tungsten heads are great for the smaller 4"- swimbaits, they're perfect for fat swing impacts and easy shiners.
I nose hook the worms like Aaron does, too. I also use the #5133 size 1 down shot hooks for weedless rigging, but I'm curious why you use the #1 Mosquitos? The #2 size is a go-to for me, and as of yet I've never lost a fish due to hook failure. Of course, I probably don't catch the same size fish as you.
All I can think when I read this is: Why would I buy a Citica I for $150 when I can get a brand new Curado I for less? I bought a Curado from monster fishing tackle a few weeks ago for $140 brand new, you can find them for even cheaper on eBay.
