What are some must have plastics for Crappie?
Gonna go out next week, but I lack fishing gear for Crappie.
Will be using a bobber/float.
Thanks for any info.
I wade here in Northern Utah, but like the OP said we don't have any animals that will eat you.
I did have a beaver chase me that was the size of a Labrador, d**n thing was a giant, I carry a .22 mag just in case.
I like what you are doing, I work for in a fishing department and there is so much plastic available it kinda
makes me sick.
You could also try to make some biodegradable lures and use another form of packaging besides plastic.
Good luck and I hope your business blows up, the world needs less plastic...
I use 16lb sunline on a few of my baitcasters without any problems.
I never have had a any dig in issues.
As for leader knots, the FG knot is the best I have used.
Its not so much there knockoff baits, I just personally can't stand the Googan Squad or their crappy favorite rods they try to pond off as the best rods ever.
I also hate anything decorated as patriotic thats made in China.
I have a few rods that are made in China and they are good rods, just don't stick American colors on it.
The best thing you can do is get a high quality spinning reel, one with a good oscillation that lays line nice.
I haven't had any problems with any higher end Shimano or Daiwa.
0 or 00 is what I use.
I use the Evergreen in a 0 and the Decoy round snap/ V snap in 00 and 000
000 size for ice fishing 00 for small jerkbaits and 0 for crankbaits.
I get them from Japan.
I would take the metanium, I have 2 of them, one metanium 14 and a metanium MGL.
They are probably my favorite reels, I did however change both main gears to curado K brass, but I never
had any problems with gears chipping of any kind, I just wanted smoother...
I love my spinning rods as much as I love my baitcasters.
I do tend to use my spinning rods more for fishing rivers and trout, unless I'm using a small jerkbait, ned rig and drop shot.
My first rod was a ugly stick with a Mitchell 300 when I was like 10 years old...
Depends on what part of Utah.
I live in Northern Utah and there is different areas to fish, we have excellent smallmouth bass, wiper, walleye and trout, we also have lots of large mouth bass in local ponds through out the state.
You don't need to fly fish unless that is something you want to learn.
Lots of people do fly fish but I just throw on my waders and use a spinning rod and small jerkbaits and catch tons of
large brown trout.
What part of Utah are you moving to?
I would go with the Kislter Helium 3 with a NFC blank.
But high end rods IMO are, Megabass Destoryer, Gloomis Conquest, NRX, GLX, St-Croix Legend Elite.
There is defiantly more out there but those are the rods I favor.
The only braid I have found that does not fade at all is the Vicious brand no-fade braid, I have been using it on a couple of bait casters for two years now and it looks new.
If Vicious would make a no-fade braid in Yellow and in 10lb that would be amazing.
All my rods consist of Gloomis, St Croix and Megabass.
I do one Dobyns swimbait rod that I use for Muskie.
As for reels, I have one Daiwa and the rest are all Shimano...
