  1. I would take a Lew's over a Quantum but since Lew's is not paying me and I have to buy my own reels I will stay with Shimano and Daiwa, they are better made "more refined" then any other company out there. It's kinda like when Arron Martens went from Megabass to Enigma LOL. It's all about the cash....
  2. I'm switching to 20lb braid soon
  3. Ice fish as much as possible Clean and re-lube all my reels
  4. The wait begins .... I'm so impatient
  5. Right now my NRX 843 has a Curado K on it and I think the balance is about perfect... I have two Metaniums with brass, I've just been wanting to try a Bantam for a while now. Yup, I already have the bearings ready to go Bantam HG has been ordered.
  6. The reel is going on a NRX 843, I use the rod for a bit of everything, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, dragging tube jigs, normal jigs and trailor, senkos... I'm thinking I will probably choose the 6.2 or 7.1 I've noticed that my lower geared shimano's stay smoother longer....d**n maybe I will get the PG LOL
  7. St Croix Legend Tournament Glass... Thank me later
  8. Lately I've been using 15lb seaguar but usually use 10lb pline tcb8, on my spinning rods I run 8lb flourocarbon using a FG knot but have never had a issue. Never had a problem with Sufix 832 either. I did have some issues with duel hardcore super 8 slipping.
  9. Conquest, super light and super powerful and very sensitive and the cork is the best I have seen. I like Kister rods but love Gloomis. I also have had lots of Gloomis rods and have never had one issue of cork, guides or reel seats....
  10. How is everyone that has a Bantam MGL liking it so far? I will most likely be ordering one this week, just trying to decide what gear ratio I want...
  11. I make my leader from the tip top guide to the rods hook holder, that way the knot never makes it to the reel when casting. FG knot always...
  12. All I use is braid to leader, on every setup even ice fishing... I love the stuff
  13. The conquest handle is the best I have felt in a long time, I'm also not a big fan of the GLX handle. But the GLX 842c is one of my favorite all time blanks....it has that "IT" factor.
  14. I use a 852c with a 1/4 and tube jig, its a smallmouth bass catching machine. But for heavier cover I would choose a 873c or 843c...
  15. I would defiantly start him with a spinning rod combo, nothing to cheap.
  16. x2 I love it but don't use it because the FG knot is weak with this line.
  17. Ned rig it, that is what I would do...
  18. 8 strand is smoother, casts better and is quieter running through guides. Its supposedly rounder also???
  19. I tear down my reels during winter but if I feel any gears at all before that I will open a reel up and ad some grease.
  20. I absolutely love the 842c GLX, it is defiantly one of my favorite rods. I use mine for Jerkbaits and spybaits the most.
  21. Gloomis Conquest 842s/Shimano Stella 2500 FJ Megabass Flyssa/Daiwa Certate 3000 LT Megabass Whipsnake/Daiwa Steez high speed 2500 Kistler M3/Shimano 12 Vanquish 3000 Gloomis NRX 852/Metanium MGL Gloomis NRX 843/Curado K Gloomis GLX/Metanium 13 St-Croix Legend Tournament Glass/Shimano Conquest Calcutta 101 I have a few more but what I listed it what I use most....
