  1. Lighter rods cast lighter lures better, physics prove that. A lighter bait will load a lighter blank vs a heavy blank and get better distance. The only moderate action rod I own is my crankbait rod.
  2. .006" braid to 8lb flourocarbon leader.
  3. Out of what you have listed I would go with- NRX Conquest Black Widow-although I have heard awesome things about these rods I have never tried one. Destroyer=adrena Expride
  4. I have the 7'4" MH and love it. There is not many crankbaits this rod could not handle...
  5. I've always had awesome customer service from Shimano/Gloomis.
  6. I love the FG knot, sure it takes about 20 extra seconds but the knot only having one tag end and being super thin and strong is the best leader knot I have ever used. It excels at going through guides and did I mention its super strong
  7. I own both and like both but favor shimano a bit more.
  8. 10lb braid to a 8lb flourocarbon leader for spinning. 20lb braid to a 10lb flourocarbon leader for casting. Those two are my most used...
  9. Never had any issues with any Shimano reels I have used. I'm also running a lot of 500 size sedona's and sahara's during ice fishing season. But at the end of the day I do prefer my reels that are made in Japan by Shimano and Daiwa.
  10. At this time I only own one Daiwa reel, its the Certate. I also have a couple Stella's and IMO the Stella is the nicer more refined reel but it does also cost more. The Certate is a d**n awesome reel.
  11. Like and love both, I could get away with just using a spinning rod for all my fishing except Muskie fishing but you can even use a spinning rod for that if you really want to. I do however prefer a spinning rod for lighter offerings/finesse fishing.
  12. All lakes in Utah are still open to my knowledge.
  13. Waiting for the Metanium 20 to be released in left hand. Love my Bantam MGL and my Stella reels also.....
  14. Very nice. I only want one at this time, but I have to wait for left hand.
  15. I've been running braid on my St Croix LTG for a couple years and have not lost any fish. I see it as I get all the benefits of sensitivity from braid and depth using a crankbait and once a fish is hooked the smooth buttery taper keeps the fish pinned love it.
  16. Ice fishing smallies
  17. I hate the T-knob, so I always go with the 2500 size, I also don't need the extra line capacity.
  18. FG all day unless I'm ice fishing, that's when I will use a Albright knot, it never slips on me....
  19. Favorite now is a Stella 2500 and a NRX 901 followed by a Certate 3000 and a Megabass Flyssa.
  20. Going as much as possible. Having a boat
  21. I use a 1000 Stradic CI4+ for ice fishing and its my favorite ice combo. Through the years the Stradic reels have always been good to me.... The CI4+ 1000 will be a bit lighter then the 1000 FL
  22. Assembled in and made in are two different things. I don't know of any rod that is 100% American made with American made materials. Honesty I like Fuji guides, they are the best guide out IMO. I think the Megabass Destroyers are made in China and they are a hell of a rod and there build quality is better then any American made rod that I have found on the market. Its like the Spyderco knives that are made in Taichung, they are built nicer with better tolerances over the USA made Spyderco's. Just sayin.... But I do love my Gloomis rods.
