  1. Im looking for a replacement crok split grip for a Dobyns 703 Champion, anyone have a source?
  2. The rod was a great rod for me, I just had a duplicate. Sold this one and USPS broke it in two on its way. I will call Kistler and see if the can help. Thanks
  3. I sold a Kistler Helium 3 casting rod a couple of weeks ago and on its way to the new owner USPS made it a two piece rod. I know I should have paid the additional money for insurance ( i thought i had but didnt) So now I have the rod back. Is there anyway it can be repaired to a two piece rod? Just trying to make the best out of the situation. Thanks, Brian
  4. Im not sure what inserts it has, is it safe to use with braid? Thanks,
  5. Yes. Stopped by Dick's this afternoon. The Curado on display had the same in and out movement as mine. I was able to find a Chronarch 50e NIB at a online retailer today suppose to be here Friday. I wonder if it will have the same characteristics.
  6. I dont think its backplay, the entire shaft, handle, and drag assembly move in and out about a 16th of an inch, not back and forth. I am going to Dicks tomorrow to see if the curado on display does the same thing. Thanks for all the replies guys.
  7. I have had mine for about 2 weeks and today I noticed some slack in the main drive shaft. I can move the handle and whole drag assembly back and forth maybe a 1/16th of an inch. Is this normal? I don't own another shimano to compare it to.
  8. I was quoted a price under $400 for several new NRX. PM and I can point you in the right direction
  9. Thanks for all the input, Im going to go with the NRX. I would never spend this kind of money on a rod if I didnt have a discount so I might as well take the plunge.
  10. Thanks for the replies, I think Im going for the NRX
  11. Bottom contact baits, 1/4 - 5/8 ounce
  12. I started a post recently about Dobyns savvy vs fury. I have some "points" availlble to me through a program at work.. Now im wondering if i should use the $200 worth of credit for a Dobyns champion or g loomis nrx or glx. I would never spend $500 on a rod, but with the points I can basically get $200 off. Are the Loomis rods that big of a jump from the Dobyns?
  13. I had that same rod and it should work well for that application
  14. Im looking for a rod for spinner baits, fluke, jerkbaits, maybe small square bills and in a pinch T rigs. Just looking for a rod that I can use in small farm ponds where its hard to carry a lot of gear. I guess something that will work for a lot of baits. I have the money to step up to the champion if that would be my best bet Thanks Brian
  15. Kstler helium that is the most sensitive I own. I recently sold a st croix mojo bass that I was using for jerkbaits, i wasnt impressed with it sensitivity. Looking for an all purpose rod. Thanks for all the replies
  16. Does anyone have much experience with these rods? Is the Savvy worth the extra $50?
  17. Dang. Thanks for the reply
  18. Can someone tell me if knobs from a Daiwa baitcaster will fit an Abu Revo reel?
  19. I U40 all of my rods. I think the U40 darkens the cork a little bit but I think If you ever decide to sell the rod, clean cork heps with resell
  20. Great review.Thanks
