Unfortunately you cannot launch at DVL do to their poorly designed boat launch, the H2O level is so bad it is lower than the "curb" at bottom of ramp thus making it non-usable. I refuse to pay the boat rental fees as well. I am born and raised in SoCal, mostly SD area and miss Otay Lakes! But as it say's in my "Favorite Lake or River" section of profile, I just can't find a lake that produced like Perris. I have not fished there since Aug 2015 so possibly could've have changed. Nevertheless, still in my opinion it is one of the best fisheries in SoCal. My step dad fished casitas and cachuma about a decade ago and mentioned it was the best lakes around. I don't know if I fished it wrong or what the problem was but the few times I went to casitas. It was only a 1 or 2 fish day. I don't want to be a "Thread Thief" but ideas to fish those lakes would be great.

I have been here in PH for a little over two years now. Until i get back down to San Diego I have converted to ocean, never had a bad day. The lakes around here are fun but do not produce as well as I thought they would. I have put my boat in Piru, castaic, pyramid and casitas, i'd have to say i would rather drive a few hours east and fish Lake perris, never had a bad day there either. I will be around PH for another year, PM me if you want to get a line wet. I'm always interested in more fishing partners.

How'd you do in San diego? It has been a while since i fished down there.

Any luck yet? Heading to perris next week; it has been almost a year to the day since i fished there. I used to be there every day last year till about June, never have been skunked there.
