  1. Some pics of the mods I've done so far are on pages 82 and 97 of this thread
  2. When I first bought mine, I was the same way. I didn't want to drill holes into the boat at. Last season I got over it and started drilling away on it. So far I mostly used rivits made by YAKGear to attach accessories to the boat. I even put in flush mount rod holders I had to drill a ***/4 holes for those. NO adverse affects to speak of so far. If I find my posts from last year I'll let you know what page they are on so you can check it out. This year I'm adding an LED light bar up front with remote control. I'll post pics when I get around to doing the project. I already have most of the parts
  3. My Instagram is @southjerzfreshwater anyone can contact me there
  4. I am in Ocean County near Toms River. I fish locally, Manasquan Res, the 3 lakes at Assunpink, looking to branch out more this season. I fish from a Bass Raider 10E. I used to live on the Asbury side of Deal Lake. I tried fishing there but never had any luck.
  5. A friend and I are going to set up the BR for night fishing, light bar and LED's. I want a slick install without wires hanging about. Has anyone taken a BR apart? Take the top half off, I mean. I would like to know what to expect. If I screw this up I won't have a boat this season. We're both mechanically inclined. Can we break anything? I have mounted things to the boat and drilled into it so far, without a problem
  6. Yeah, that's what I figured...hitting BPS tomorrow morning
  7. Ok thanks...Cardiff it is, 300 or 400? Now I have an extra 60 bucks for tackle!
  8. I'm killing them on a suspending Glass Minnow color Rapala Husky Jerk. They always take it on the pause. I pause it at least 5 seconds more like 10. They also just bite it and stay in one place. I only feel the fish on the next jerk. Hope that helps
  9. Just getting into the swimbait/wakebait game. I have a 7'11" Lew's Custom Speed Stick Super Duty casts up to 3 oz. I live in New Jersey so that size Swimbait should be plenty. I tried the Lew's Super Duty reel but that didn't cut it. I tied on a 1 1/2 oz bait and I was only 3 or 4 clicks from the brake being completely locked down. Thinking of a Shimano Cardiff or Calcutta or an Abu C3 or C4. Thoughts? I need to keep this under $200
  10. Got my guide, I'm good. Thanks everyone
  11. Thanks, We are going last week in june
  12. Going on a trip to the 1,000 Islands this coming June. Looking for recommendations for a guide, fishing artificials only. Not looking for a party/head boat situation. What stage will the fish be in? Post spawn?
  13. Hey, Fish Devil. I'm the guy that ran into you at Bass Pro on black friday
  14. There is already an almost 100 page thread about the boat on BR. "Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?" Owners post all the mods they have done and discuss. Check it out
  15. I forget the make but I got them at Dicks for $14.95. Over in the kayak section. I also made an extra gasket out of 1/4" thick rubber I picked up at the hardware store. So it would conform to the boats curvature a little better. Used marine sealant on the whole thing.
  16. Just installed built in rod holders. That's one bad thing about the BR. No rod storage. I might install 2 more up front but that can wait. I'm putting cleats on tomorrow. I'm tearing up the bottom of this thing on boat ramps so I'll have to lauch like the big boys and tie it up to the dock instead of getting in and shoving off.
  17. Colliers Mills, Assunpink, Stone Tavern, and Prospertown if you have a kayak. No electric allowed
  18. Well, it looks like this meet up idea is dead in the water, as they say. Maybe next year.
  19. Don't sweat drilling holes and attaching accessories. Use rivits made for kayaks and some sealant, no worries. I just picked up this sweet trailer for $500. It's a 2012 and was only used once. It came with a jet ski and the guy I bought it from had a double trailer that he used for his family. He needed it out of his garage. I should have the bunks for the BR done by the and of the week.
  20. They have Cocoons at Bass Pro, you can try them on there. I love mine.
  21. I'm happy you made this post. I was going to ask for some advice after this horrendous weather we have been having. I'm gonna get out Saturday and I was thinking jigs or senkos close to structure. I started seeing beds last week with no fish on them as well. Only got one last Saturday on a fluke.
  22. It did not work, I am picking up my new load rite trailer next Wednesday. I was lucky the last time I took the boat out. Someone was there to give me a hand. the tailgate had to be close to 4 ft off the ground at the lake! That was it, I pleaded my case to the wife and started searching for a trailer. The owner of the trailer dealership was great. I gave him the dimensions of the bottom of the boat and a pic and they are configuring the trailer for the BR so it should be ready to fish when I pick it up. its the smallest jet ski trailer Load Rite makes. the 1,000 pound capacity PWC trailer Camp Marine in Point Pleasant NJ I don't know which is better. I would just read some reviews and take the plunge, I guess
  23. Here ya go.........http://www.amazon.com/Newport-Vessels-Trolling-Battery-Center/dp/B01AE2TG7G?ie=UTF8&redirect=true&ref_=s9_acsd_al_bw_c_x_5 MInnkota also make one like this with 2 cigarette lighter type power sources. You can get usb adapters for those at any convenience store. Its on my list for next years mods so I can power a go pro from it all day
  24. Its a Cellblock by Yak Attack with Ram mounts for the transducer and Lowrance. Like $140 all together, not counting FF and battery
