Thanks guys, Seems like my desire to try sniper should be a solid choice

I have been eyeballing and itching to try some better fluorocarbon for awhile. Been using stren for past year. Really want to try sunline sniper more than anything for some unknown reason. Anyone have any input as to its manageability and memory. How about Pline 100% as well? I will be using around 15 lb for skipping jigs around docks and laydowns and a few rocky points. Nothing to wicked to require braid

Been throwing 1/4 oz crank a lot and it throws them well but when I throw the 1/2 oz it bombs them plenty far for me

Ended up going with the president 30. I played around with them and put it on my rod and it balanced out well and looking foward to hitting the lake and getting better with the Dropshot. Thanks for the replies everyone.

I have 4 of the IKE series rods myself, I really like them. The actions and backbone to tip ratios seem to be spot on for what I was looking for. The 7'3 m delay series is a dream for cranking.

Thanks for the reply. I'm leaning heavily towards the president especially since next weekend it can be had for $49, seems like a good deal. Would you recommend the 30 or 35 size. Gonna be using either 6 lb fluro or 20lb braid with a leader.

I'm just now getting into dropshotting and was wondering what you guys choice would be between, Abu Garcia Orra s, Pflueger President, Shimano Sahara. The reel will be paired with my 6'10 ml Abu Garcia Ike series spinning rod. I will be fishing this around shallow to medium cover and docks. Also any other recommendations that I didn't list below the $100 mark.

I am fairly new to bass and baitcasting fishing. When you guys are fishing a lure that works the bottom how do you let the line fall? Do you disengage the spool immediately after the cast and wait or do you let the line spool off after water contact with the spool still engaged?
