  1. Thanks for the quick responses gentleman. I'm still stuck between the two, I'm leaning toward the 795 but my concern is that it won't handle the heavier lures that good even though it's rated to 5oz.
  2. Hey everbody, this question is directed to new Hampshire swimbait fishermen. I'm getting into swimbaits and I'm looking for a swimbait specific rod, I keep going back and forth between dobyns fury 795 sb 1-5 oz and fury 806 sb 2-8 oz. I'm planning on using 6 inch line thru trout spro bbz 1 jr Huddleston 68. But not sure if the 8 inch Huddleston and and s waver 200 and other baits around 8 inch work good in NH. I know if I'm going to be using the lighter lures then the 795 would be good. But I'm looking for suggestions on the larger 8 inch baits also would work around these parts. If so then the 806 would be better. I mostly fish ponds and some lakes in the southern area of the state out of a Jon boat. I guess the question is, do 8 inch baits work in NH like they do in other states that have DD fish. What would you swimbait guys suggest, heavier rod and bigger baits or lighter rod and around 6 inch baits? Thanks in advance.
  3. Great job, congrats!

  11. When I first started fishing yum dingers I would use straight shank tru turn. Then switched to ewg but just recently started using offset round bend. But I'm not even sure the reason to use ewg anyway?
  12. Anybody used braid on cherrywood hd i wanna use it on that rod but dont know if it will wear grooves in the guides. anyone have experience with this?
  13. For anyone who watched the episode of "Playing possum" did anyone notice what kind of hook he was using? looked like offset round bend to me, just curious because seems like most people use a EWG. Possibly offset round bends will work just as good maybe better for stick o worms. anyone's opinion will be appreciated, Thanks, Joe

  15. Thank you everyone. i took it out today and it didnt make the noise once, im assuming it was somthing to do with the oil becasue it didnt make that sound before. but now seems good, thanks again!
  16. just got a bps pro qualifier beginning of this year and i oiled the spool ends and bearings the other day and now sometimes when i reel it sounds like the reel is gurgling or like it has water in it. it has only happened a couple of times, dosnt seem to effect the reel at all but its kinda bothering me. anybody else ever have this problem? Thanks in advance! Joe
  17. If any of you guys get your reels cleaned locally in NH where do you get it done. my reel is due for a good cleaning. Thanks, Joe
  18. Just bought a Mossberg accu mag full choke for my 835 and on the package says it can shoot most lead steel and non toxic shot but I've read that you should not shoot steel out of a full choke. This will be my first year waterfowl hunting, looking for some help, thanks.
  19. 1. 5 or 6 inch yum dinger. 2. Weightless super fluke. 3. Zoom horny toad. 4. Super spook Jr. 5. Trick worm.
  20. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll give them a try. And I was using a 5 inch yum dinger
  21. I'm having some trouble with the mono on my bps pro qualifyer. I have it spooled with 14lb spider wire ultracast and the line seems to come off not Smooth and cause more backlash. Thought maybe had too much line so I took some off and that helped a little bit, but I didn't have this problem when I was using the same line in 12lb maybe the 14lb is to thick maybe a different line in 14lb would be better? Thanks
  22. Hey I'm looking for some soft plastics colors for flukes or senkos that would imitate bluegill pumpkinseed and other sun fish, or what othere soft plastics you may recomend. Thanks
