  1. About ten years ago I went to a Kentucky Lake ramp early to get the take off for a tournament organized. As I proceeded to drop my boat off at the ramp I saw a white glow in the water. Two inebriated fisherman had let the boat, trailer and truck sink out of sight while attempting to launch. They were pulled out by another boater.
  2. You're right especially when they come from a 16 round clip.
  3. RMc~ There are times when the fish just turn off. The Good News is it can be predictable especially when there is cause e.g fronts, storms, turnover ect.. Even then I would stick with it, Concentrate on non aggressive patterns e.g.. Vision 110's slow jerked half way down, small baits e.g. Baby Brush Hogs, finesse worms on drop shot rigs. Even if you don,t catch many fish the experience gained fishing tough water will pay off. I have picked up a quite a few Federation tournament checks with one fish.
  4. Having consistently good bass spots is mostly the results of a lot of time, effort and sometimes really hard work developing deep brush piles so I do not give them out for the local lakes I currently fish period.... I do however give out locations and patterns that have produced for me in out of state tournament lakes that I no longer fish.
  5. Mark Trail rides again. Makes me...................... nah, I'm not allowed to say that.........
  6. You are right, it's your location. Try about 500 miles South.
  7. We have a small lake , 2 acres, that hold quite a few bass and huge bluegill and I have never noticed any detrimental effect. In the spring and late fall we often have > 100 geese and ducks coming and going.. We do have to treat the lake 3-4 times a year as it does get to fertile with excess algae and aquatic grass/weeds because of their droppings. The winter turnover however always has a detrimental effect .
  8. I would say that your advice is spot on. Maybe you are not seeing the response results you are looking for because you haven't figured in the datum for the fisherman . Being new they have yet to invest in the time, physical, and mental commitment to become successful. You have kindled their interest. Your success will become contagious as they watch, emulate and read. Bass Resource.
  9. I'm thinkin a big glob of worms and a 3" bobber.
  10. IMPO If the fish was legally caught with legal baits it should count as your personal best . I vacate this position for all and any tournament or contests.
  11. Deep bass are very often related to deep structure. You can take advantage of this by putting in some hard work with hard wood brush piles on secondary points, creek channel edges, humps and docks that tend to hold fish. You can also use a carolina rig to find structures others have put in. I fish Lake of the Ozarks that could be argued as being the busiest and most pressured lake in the nation. I have 8-10 brush piles between 15-20' deep in a specific area or creek arm. I fish them as a route. I have five brush routes in the area of the lake I fish the most. In the dog days of summer I fish mostly at night. I also use fluorescent tape on tree trunks and docks to position the boat quicker. It is very seldom that my partner and I don't find fish. I am certainly not alone. Every Friday night there are forty or fifty other guys fishing the local weekly night tournament out of the Grand Glaze ramp. The same system works at Pomme De Terre Lake that is only about 1/10 the size. Maybe a bigger loop in your lasso would help.
  12. Sponsors lures would have priority but not to the point of total vertical monopoly. Mega Baits Vision 110 usage would be a good example.
  13. The boater doesn't sing Cumbia either.
  14. 50 gal x $2.50 = $125. plus oil @ $20. gal.
  15. Jerkbaits, Shad Raps and rattletraps. If you are in a big lake with many schools of threadfin shad look for the birds. Works for black bass , white bass and striped bass.
