    I agree with guys saying a shorter rod. If you have any kind of vegetation on the banks having a long pole will become a pain. You might forsake some distance with your cast but a 6’-6’6” you will be so much more accurate. I would look hard at the bps pro qualifier rod/reel combo. It’s a little above your price point I believe but I have two of the reels and they are work horses. I know the reel will be on sale next week for like $50.

    Bass pro and TW are the only places I’ve ordered rods and had nothing but good luck with them.

    @Hawkeye21 not saying they should shorten it up. But they talk about growing the sport with youth and such. I just wonder how effective they are going to be when most of there fishing is happening when kids are in school. That’s the future of the sport so I dunno just kinda something floating around in my mind

    The only thing I dislike is the tourney so much falls during the work week. All anglers said they want to grow the sport and that. I don’t get it when 2/3 of it fall during the week. Most people can’t watch all week. Reason the nfl and college football are so big is its 1-2 days and games are when people aren’t at work till you get to bowl seasons.

    Tied for fourth in the group and in the 890’s overall. Not the greatest start, had Gustafson not bombed day 1 I might be looking at lot better. I’m ready for this week to start though.

    @OCdockskipper he has seemed to make that switch well. I have heard he does not like being in the spotlight and that seemed a little obvious when Mercer tried to talk to him on stage today. Speaking of Klein I think he just caught a 13+ lmb in Texas that went to the sharelunkers program seems like they both still got it

    Pretty cool to see Clunn whack them again. I remember people on this site complaining about him last year. He might not be the best onscreen personality but still knows how to get it done. crews also had an awesome final day big sack that he had was impressive as well. With the exception of Latuso kinda mailing it in, looked like his water was blown the final ten had an awesome day. I won’t even look and say what coulda been, the new grew of elites produced this week and it will be interesting to see how they do in GA next week.

    Not really a tv show but bass talk live had a ton of info and interviews with pros that changed tours to incoming folks that filled the holes at bass. Check em out

    Most of my anglers moved up today or held ground have four fishing tomorrow

    Although bass fishing might not be the supreme in Colorado you have crazy good multi species options there. The trout fishing is amazing throughout the state. I know this is a bass forum but river fishing for brooks bows and browns would be awesome as well. And don’t knock the hunting yet you can get over the counter elk tags there and get out in the woods!!!

    Chiefs could have got there and it wasn’t the loss of hunt, twice they didn’t stop New England to secure a win, field goal as time expired and ot touchdown. Defense was their problem not the stable of stud running backs they have.

    Panther martins, yellow body with red spots and black body with yellow spots usually were my best. Followed by rooster tails, then a kastmaster spoon.

    I wouldn’t call them scrubs I’m roughly guessing but 3/4 of the field was BASS last year so numbers should be lopsided their way. Don’t for get Christie Tharp MJD are some that had very successful FLW careers and made a jump. Hard for me to bash on a group simply because they weren’t “elite” last year. Final year end standings will show how strong those anglers are.

    Only response is that it’s the first tourney, I would like to see year end where folks are. The greatest KVD is currently 14 spots below the cut.

    What little I watched reminded me of golf and thought it was awesome. Pretty neat to see how the every fish counts is changing the leaderboard today.

    I use the xd line up as well. They seem to cover what your looking to do well. I would follow @Bluebasser86 advice. Happy cranking!!

    we have had a decent winter here so far. Hoping it keeps up for the next month/month and a half. We still need our lake to come up 30’ just to hit the pool we had last spring. I don’t know if we will get enough snow pack to do that or not.
