  1. Oh my gosh man tell me about it. My wife will set there 8 hours with a book and the sweat pouring off her face and say "ain't this relaxing?" I'm like hell no it's not I'm dying. We got out early this morning and I thought for sure hit the top water blowup and man we got skunked!!! Good lord I'm a pretty darned good fisherman. I give up. I guess I'll set out there and roast tomorrow.
  2. Man the day time bite ain't bad but the night bite is non existent. Most of the water is ponds, golf course ponds or facility ponds. We only fish the older compounds and there are millions of fry on the banks. We landed several including a nice 5'er but man the nite bite at my home is awesome but here it's like there's not a fish is the water lol. Most of these waters are clear. Not gin clear bit way more than my farm ponds at home. I've gotten them down pat during the day with light flouro and some natural stuff but I sure thought we would stay them at night and it has left me baffled to say the least. Thrown every top water item I have. Lol still fun tho
  3. Separate the elastics! I learned the hard way. They melt. Unlike plastics.
  4. People are about to fill their pants to get on the water. Forget things.
  5. Great replies! I went with a friend to a pond on his jon boat yesterday. We fished for 3 hours and got rained out. He caught one dink and I got skunked but it was great just being out there. Sometimes wetting a line for me is just as good as "pullage" use to be for me. Life is good. They will come. Have fun.
  6. old school notebook. only ones over 3 pounds i log though.
  7. Out----- stand---- ing! Thats what I was looking for. Thanks so much!
  8. scenario: Where are you going first? You have never been here. Hey guys, there is a small reservoir close to me and its rather new (less than 5 years old) and was stocked in 08 with 100k fish, bass and crappie. in 2015 another 10k. The PB is 9.6 and i have seen plenty 5, 6 and 7's come out but some days, you dont get one single bite. I have always been a bank beater but with some good electronics, I think that the channel is where to find consistant bass from what Ive read. Check out the topo and the overlay of the channel and tell me what you think. Keep in mind that the deepest part of the lake is 35 -40 feet. I rarely see anyone anchored out in the middle looking like they may be trying to find the channel. Based on the maps, its not that hard. Ill be the first to say that fishing out in the middle isnt as exciting. Then again, I have not hooked up to that hawg in the channel either. Heres pix. ......last one is before the dam was finished.
  9. "git your _____ in the boat!!!"
  10. This made me think. My best friend owns a business called "the golf cart outlet" wooooo!
  11. One thing that has helped me early. If you walk up to the edge of the water and can see the bottom in 2 feet of water, then choose natural looking lure colors, browns, tans, greens. If its murky, choose dark colors or black, even black and blue together. Also, on clear stuff, lighter line, 6 to 8 pound flurocarbon. Good Luck.
  12. I wouldnt call mine a superstition but If Im hung up underwater. Ill break it off if the hole is golden. Im not risking running them off. Note: I dont use tungsten and high dollar hooks either.
  13. If you can see them, they can see you. Probably went on alert.
  14. 7.13 on 8/24/15 and caught her again on 05/27/2016 then she was 7.10. First time on a black Zoom trick worm, the 2nd time on a black Zoom 6" lizard with blue specs.
