  1. Someone recommends a diawa fuego in 3...2...1
  2. They are very different. I bought 2 packs, all the tails were bent. And they dont kick at very slow speeds like keitechs
  3. My favorite is deadsticking a 7 inch senko. The bigger spool lets you use heavier line without sacrificing cast distance. I also skip lure with spinning gear and skip frogs under heavy cover. A medium heavy rod with 40lb maxcuatro works great for me
  4. No way, sell it to me. I use 4000 reels regularly for bass. Less wind knots, less line twist and you can use most flouros without creating loops. Im actually looking for another one myself
  5. Do any of you diawa lovers have any old shimanos you dont want? Looking for some good deals
  6. Did favorite send you the tip? You could call them or email to ask if they use melt or epoxy? If they use epoxy id take it to a rod builder. If hot melt than you could just apply a little heat
  7. I think he meant that using older gear is a little harder because some newer reels are faster, lighter, smaller and smoother. Not all. Also rods are alot more sensative now. But there is no wrong way to fish. I punch thick grass with spinning gear lol
  8. Yes, i 100% undertood you tried it on a different rod. Now you should try it on this one. Maybe you will find it works this time around
  9. Just try it. Use heat, ive never had a problem
  10. Zodias is amazing, another great frog rod is the lews tp1 7'2 heavy.
  11. I also have 2 of them, awesome reels. I think you dont have it set up right. I have my tension knob pretty loose and my brakes at about 3 or 4.
  12. No, not all the way! First off, any sinker 1/2 oz or more is really pushing that rod. Second of all, 20 lb braid is the most id use on that rod. The reel is probably a 2000 size and you will get wind knots with 30lb braid. And third, DO NOT tighten all the way. Any big fish is gonna break your line or your rod. When fighting a big fish with a weak rod something has to give. Its either the drag, the line or the rod. Which do you think should give?
  13. Yesterday i noticed my lews tp1 was really bent, it was a 6 pounder
  14. I got a lews 8.1 super duty g, it is amazing. Just buy it man, pay it off little by little and build credit lol
  15. I have that reel, its an awesome reel. I punch and throw 7 inch keitechs with it. 0 problems
  16. Simple. Braid+leader. Uni to uni knot
  17. 3 years ago i started using braid plus a big game leader. Never looked back, i use this setup for everything. From ned rig to a 10 inch hudd. I tie a leader big enough to last a fishing day. The only reason i tie a leader is to be able to break off when i snag. Try breaking 80lb braid, the rod will bust in half way before the hook or braid gives
  18. Heres the lineup this year. Reels are being lubed and respooled. Lews fanboy here
  19. I use braid and big game for everything. Has never failed me
  20. Do not blame the diawa reel on these forums, you will be flamed. Should be called diawaresource.com lol. Im kidding. On the serious side, dont stray from shimano for spinning. Diawa makes a d**n fine casting reel but their spinning reels arent up to par yet
  21. I have one, i guess you could say its technically pushing it but mine has never had a problem. Only problem is sometimes i wish i had a little more line. For hudds i use a lews superduty and its never had a problem either. Last year i was on the water and forgot my swimbait rod. I used my punching rod for a hudd and my shimano curado did awesome
  22. I have a lews mach2 combo, i have higher end combos but i really enjoy that setup. Its sensitive enough and seems to have a little magic, i always get bit on that rod
  23. Too much diawa hype on these forums. I used to have a lots diawas and shimanos. Loved them all, now i run mostly lews because of the value. I dont feel my shimanos or diawas are any better than my lews. And i dont feel the fuego is better than the casitas, they are both great reels. Casitas feel a little better in hand. I hope everyone who pitches in has actually used these reels
