  1. Anyone see the pflueger president limited edition? Im getting it for sure
  2. Lol same thing here, i bought some 12lb vanish. Broke on every hookset
  3. Lately ive been catching monsters on the wacky rig, but ive noticed that ive hooked a couple deeper than id like. None have died that i know of but i dont like it. I might change hooks, maybe ill try circle hooks
  4. I have both the zodias and the crucial, i have to say i usually enjoy using the crucial more. Its just perfect, my favorite out of every rod ive ever had
  5. 6'6 or longer medium heavy
  6. Ive also fished 12lb mono on a spinning set up and works awesome. I actually fish it regularly
  7. d**n thats so nice, im a sucker for cork
  8. Go to cabelas, get a cabelas tourney trail and pflueger president combo for around $100 and go slay them. It was my first combo and i still love it. Id recommend spinning while you get good at bass fishing. It will save you some headaches, and as you get better you can look into a casting set up
  9. Get yourself a spoon and a spinnerbait and have some confidence in them
  10. You gotta think outside the box. For example, today i fished a river by my house that is notorious for the bass not biting. Most people get skunked there even though there are tons of bass there. I was throwing my usual texas rig, then my usual wacky worm...nothing. i switched to a squarebill crankbait and a spoon and still nothing. Than out of nowhere i decide to put on the only topwater frog i own, bought it over a year ago and never used it. First cast WHAMM! 4LBer, than a 3lber. Anyways just be versatile, some of these fish have seen it all. Sometimes all you gotta do is change your game up. And try to master many different lures
  11. But i think you line dug into itself. Were you throwing heavy lures at one piont?
  12. Either your line dug into itself, or your tension knob is to loose and you need to adjust it or your brakesp
  13. Put 50lb braid on you reel, then add a flouro or mono leader as needed. You need a leader for crankbaits because all the power on your hookset will transfer through the braid possibly ripping the hook straight through the fishes mouth
  14. Nice, for around $200 you can get a falcon bucoo rod and a shimano citica. Great set up and real light. Good luck catching those monsters
  15. Same thing happened to me, lost a couple trying to get the net. I now flip and have not lost one. Yet
  16. I have a friend that i sometimes go fishing with, we live in austin texas but he is not from around here. He always keeps any fish he catches, ive told him plenty times that i catch and release only buthe still keeps the ones he catches. One time he kept a 7lber and I havent gone fishing with him since
  17. Cabelas tourney trail with a pfleuger president will get the job done
  18. It happens, couple days ago i had a fish swallow the hook. The piont and barb were in his stomach. I did quick surgery and he swam off just fine. I keep telling my self that he survived. I waited too long to set the hook
  19. Do they still put those flimsy guides on the ***?
  20. Lol im was born and raised in mexico and i still frequently visit. Its really not as bad as people make it out to be. You do have to be cautious but some people exagerrate
  21. Have not seen that before, nice. Thanks for sharing that
  22. People are gonna recommend what they like. Id recommend get a MH 7 ft. Any brand you feel comfortable buying. Veritas are good, omens are good. I use falcon bucoos and love them
  23. I recommended the o rings beacause the senko lasts a long time with an o ring. For about 1 cent an o ring. Makes it worth it for me and i get just as many bites
  24. Kills them everytime, my go to technique. Gotta have the o-ring and use a wacky or dropshot hook
  25. Bucoos are great, my 6'6 MH spinning bucoo is the most versatile rod i own. Ive thrown averything from weightless worms to zman chatterbaits
