  1. If you are just going to be carrying one rod than i dont think weight would be a real issue. Unless its an ugly stik
  2. X2 for bucoo or lowrider. I have 6 bucoos and 2 lowriders and they are amazing. The eva handles on the bucoos are real comfortable. I dont see a difference from cork
  3. If you are gonna get a citica get the new ones. On ebay for 120. I just bought 2 and love them
  4. Finesse is pretty much downsizing everything. Light line, light lures, softer rod. And lots of twitching and line watching. I use a 6ft light rod
  5. Id get a 7ft medium light for finesse. 7 or 8 pound line
  6. Yessir i learned it the hard way
  7. For the first year i fished i only used senkos and zoom lizards. Caught a lot of bass that way. Still my go to baits. I use the senko for wacky rig and the lizard for texas rig
  8. Little update here. This last week he fished my spot 5 days out of 7. Caught the same 4 pounder (same exact fish) 3 times and saying he is really good at fishing and wanting to fish tournaments now. He has never been on a boat lol i had a great laugh. Oh and i quit fishing with him. I think he got a hint that i wasnt happy. Not only did i put him on all the spots he nows but he calls them "his honey holes". I also taught him 90% percent of all he nows. He used to be a throw a spinnerbait everyday everywere type of guy. Bout to go fish after a couple days. I hope hes not there. Rant done, im sorry
  9. A couple years ago when i got my first baitcasters i bought 4 brand new right hand reels and after the first trip i realized i had messed up. Had to sell them and get lefties
  10. Whenever somebody shows me a spot, i try to respect them and keep it to my self. But maybe im in the wrong
  11. And if you think im wrong and im just being an a**hole please tell me
  12. Theres a creek by my house that produces really well for me. I catch 6,5 and 4 pounders regularly. I usually fish alone, im a loner. I discovered this spot a couple years ago when i saw what was supposed to be a dried uo creek on a map. I walked 30 minutes into the woods and found the spot. It was full of water and has a lot of huge bass in it. Ive been fishing it for a couple years now and im pretty much the only one who fishes it. Ive never seen anyone there and ive never seen any recent trash or signs of people fishing there. I recently met a friend who loves fishing also. And i took him to my spot. Now the problem is he fishes that spot everyday. Seriously he dosent work, hes there everyday. The thing that ticks me off is that he told another guy about it and he is probably gonna tell somebody else. What do you guys think i should do?
  13. Academy h20 express mettle with h20 express combo is very good. Also the cabelas tourney trail/ pflueger president combo is great and you save money when you buy it as a combo.
  14. I have a question. I have a shimano crucial. You guys probably know about the horrible hook keeper position. I was pitching into some thick grass and i had a bite. The braid had gotten stuck on the hook keeper so when i set the hook the drag was not able to engage. The rod exploded. Shimano replaced it but it didnt seem like they wanted to replace it. What do you guys think shimano should of done? Replace it or no? Im a small buisness owner myself and i dont like it when customers try to take advantage of me but i honestly feel like it was a manufacturing error
  15. What lb test braid are you using? And are your breaks on at all? How heavy was the lure you tried casting?
  16. I like the cabelas fat grub. On a weedless jig head. I always tie it on my little brothers rod. He always seems to catch fish with it
  17. The wacky rig seems to make them mad an usually theyll hit it. Here in my area at least
  18. I have expensive combos (zodias, stradic ci4+, stella, crucial younname it) But one of my favorite combos is a 7ft medium fast falcon bucoo paired to a 2500 shimano sahara. They just go so well together. The reel is very smooth and the drag is amazing. The rod is so versaltile ive thrown frogs, jigs, texas, wacky, flukes etc. Thats my go to combo when i go bank fishing and can only take one rod
  19. I used to always look into reels with strong drag but after catching a 6lbder on a ultralight reel witb 4lb max drag i realized you dont need a lot. What matters is how smooth it releases the line
  20. Ill sell you my concept, it was more expensive than my citica i and performs worse in my opinion
  21. So i need a 6'6 medium- extra fast spinning rod in the $100 range. I do a lot of bank fishing in creeks and rivers were i walk miles into the woods and i prefer 6'6 rods for that. I found this clarus rod that looks nice plus i love cork. Anyone try this rod? Any reviews or suggestions? Other rod recommendations are welcome. Just has to be in between 6'6 and 6'10 medium- extra fast. Thanks
  22. Should of gotten a shimano Just kidding but my new citicas are a lot better than my concept and my revo and my lews speed spool
  23. My set up is 5'5 light pflueger president rod with a 20x predisent reel. 10 lb pp to a 6lb trilene flouro leader
  24. I wonder if hes sponsored
  25. Id take a finnesse setup all day. I hooked a 5lber last week on a 5'5 ul and that was one of the best fights ive ever been in. Drag screaming and the rod at a 45 degree angle. It is fun
