Wow i just saw the g.loomis classic series. They are exactly what i am looking for. How are g.loomis rods in terms of power? For a 2 rod system should i get the heavy and medium heavy? I see theres not much lure weight difference between the medium and medium heavy

I know, my wrists also get sore but i dont really feel it when im fishing. I feel them the next day lol I prefer regular butts over pistols but ill take what i can find.

It dont matter, pistol grip or not. Some guy posted some lews pistol grips on sunday but he wont respond my messages. They are exactly what im looking for. I use braid so sensativity is not really an issue

I can vouch for the sedona, great reels. Saharas are great also. I even have a sienna i like and it bulletproof

I fish in real small boats, and we like to take minimal gear. We limit ourselves to 2 combos each. Works out great but i gotta get shorter rods, at a maximum id like 6'6 but i would prefer 6ft rods. We fish really close quarters, no lomg casts . I used to have a berkley amp 6ft medium heavy that was perfect until i broke it. I was thinking of getting something a little more high end this time, but i may have to buy another I look at the st croix

I need a couple casting rods, a mhf and a mf. Do any brands make them still?

I use 50 dollar rods and reels, all good

The only bad rod ive ever held from shimano was a sellus, my aird x blows it out of the water

I used to use mostly shimano rods, the crucial was probably the best rod ive ever had. Better than rods twice its price. Now that i think about it, i dont know why i dont buy shimano rods anymore

I might over do it but when i fish baitcasters i use 50lb braid, mostly because i dont like the line digging into the spool

A hf would be ideal, its what i use And yes a 4000 is more than enough, i use a 3000 with 20lb drag

If you want to get him a good spinning frog combo get him a dobyns sierra 705s eith a daiwa revros 300 reel. Its a 7ft heavy rod. Its almost the perfect spinning frog rod. If you want something cheaper get him an airdx mh with the revros. I fish 100% spinning gear, currently i frog with a 7ft daiwa saltist heavy rod. Best rod ive used for frogging but its a little pricey. For the rest of my fishing i use airdx rods, its been a really good season for me Also the penn combos in medium heavy make for great frog rods, as long as you dont throw bottom contact baits because they lack in sensitivity

I love my daiwa saltist 3000. Yes its a spinning reel. Its my punching reel. Yes i punch with spinning gear

Im broke af. But im currently using a daiwa airdx mh with a revros 3000. 20lb braid to a 10lb mono leader. It works great, hage caught a lot of fish on that setup

I must be doing it wrong, i flip and pitch with the same rod
