  1. Mostly use shimano now but i had an ethos last year and man that was a great rod. Probably the best rod for the money. I dont know why i sold it
  2. Wish i had a pic, last week caught a 6 inch bass on a magnum fluke. Didnt even penetrate the fluke. He just wouldnt let go
  3. Correct, in fact i use oversized spinning reels for most my rods. I used to use 2500 size, now i use 3000 and 4000. Line twist stays minimum and line casts further
  4. Lol nope i say i have never seen it before
  5. I own a small taco shop, one time i found a 100 dollar bill. I asked customers if they had lost one till i finally found the oqner of the bill. Couple hours later i got a call from a guy who was asking if we had found that bill. I had given the bill to the wrong person
  6. Hard to beat a falcon bucoo 6'6 medium heavy. Its called the all aroung spin rod for a reason. I use it for tons of techiques
  7. Any medium heavy or heavy depending on brand will work. I use a medium heavy moderate but thats just personal preference
  8. Ill try to get a pic in a little bit. Its paired to a ci4+ so it balances perfect
  9. Thats a perfect rod for those applications, the fluke and the ned rig are what it excells at. I have 4 zodias, light, medium light, medium and medium heavy. I can definetly tell a difference between ml and m. The ml is my favorite of all 4
  10. My zodias 6'8 light is the best ive tried with the ned. Just seems perfect for it
  11. Alright guys so im finishing up my spinning arsenal and i have 1 more reel that does not have a rod. It is a stella c3000xg. Currently i have- Shimano clarus 6'6 medium fast Shimano clarus 6'10 medium heavy fast Zodias light 6'8 Zodias medium light 7ft Zodias medium 7ft Crucial medium heavy 7ft Falcon bucoo medium moderate 7ft Im pretty set on a g.loomis nrx. Which would you recommend as far as lenght and power goes. Really want it to be an all arounder but its a hard thing to do. I see there are some 6'8, 6'10, 7'1, 7'3. Never had an nrx so i need some advice from nrx owners. Thanks
  12. I have both, the ci4 i think is smoother. But its hard to get to balance on a rod unless its a zodias. The fk is a great all around reel, and i like the knob better. I use a 4000 size fk for frogging and punching. I have never felt overpowered by a fish
  13. Same here, i have heavy tackle but usually always end up catching most my fish and a medium or light spinning rod
  14. Zodias, i have 4. Amazing rods And for finnesse theres nothing better than the 6'8 light- fast action
  15. With braid you dont really got to worry about it. But if you ever throw a weightless pastic try to add a swivel, they tend to twist in the water
  16. Its a saltwater bait, the plastic is alot harder right?
  17. I tend to keep my drag a little tight. Im usually a big rod, big line, big baits kind of guy but im trying this finnesse thing. Next time i will lower the drag for sure
  18. I was using a medium light zodias on 10lb braid with a 8lb big game mono leader
  19. So i bought the z man shrooms jigs for the ned rig. I love the action and shape of the head but i ended up catching a 2 1/2 and a 3 1/2 lbders and i noticed the hook was almost completely bent out after each fish. Then i hooked a bigger one wich i lost because the hook bent out. Anyone know of a beefier hook i could use? Or any recommendations
  20. I have always used baitcaster for heavy lures like jigs and frogs. Last week i bought a heavy-fast big bear spinning rod and decided to try frogging with it. I put a 4000 stradic fk, 30lb power pro and a 17lb leader. Man that thing casts a mile, and i can give the frog really good action with the spinning rod. I ended up catching a nice 4 1/2lb bass to test the combo. Gotta say i loved it. I might be frogging with spinning gear more often. Oh and throwing jugs felt awesome too
  21. Keep it! I also have a rod i can see myself ever abandoning. Its a 6'6 cabelas tourney trail medium light with a president reel
  22. Braid with leader on all 3. I couldnt go back to flouro or mono after trying braid. Especially on spinning gear
  23. The main reasons i use leaders are- 1. Sometimes when you set the hook on a biggin the line can snap because of the lack of stretch, this goes for smaller braid like 10 or 15 lb. 2. Because when you get snagged, something has got to give. Braid will not break.
  24. Heres some of my rigs, for some reason i spend more money on spinning setups
  25. I have another friends that wont shut up, talk too d**n much. He is right next to me now, just talking and talking. Were fishing
