  1. The only thing your doing wrong is your not using braid as a mainline
  2. Its part of the game. Wear boots. If you dont disturb them they wont disturb you. They usually just leave when they see humans
  3. Sometimes I think people are scared to admit they use spinning gear on this forum lol
  4. Ive had most success with frogs, lizards, wacky senkos, 5inch swimbaits and ned rig But yeah read that thread about fancasting a senko and a fat ika. Great article
  5. I love the weedless hudds and the swaver. Cant go wrong. I also really like the big storm shad swimbait I forget what its called.
  6. I dont think about lost fish. Ive lost hundreds but I just fix my bait and go back at it. Fish probably tells his buddys, "I lost a 200lb human today"
  7. The key is in the moment you let the fish suck in the bait. Give it like 2 seconds. Then set the hook and keep pressure on the fish at all times. If you give him line he will spit it
  8. Dont worry. It will work. You might have to put a little more effort with spinning gear but its all worth ir when your fishing
  9. I had a couple break on me too. But I just buyed another pack. Im pretty sure it was user error. Drag was a little too tight. Good to know they have good service
  10. Those bucoo lizard draggers are awesome rods
  11. Yes they are at cabelas for 12.99. I bought a 130 size. Caught like 6 fish and lost it on the first day
  12. I use a 7ft medium mod falcon bucoo for soft plastics all the time. No problems. Just set the hook a little bit harder than usual and always have the drag set up right
  13. Bass arent as smart as you think. I catch them on artificial shrimp everyday. When bass are hungry youll catch em.
  14. Pq is not a bad reel, idk about the fire rod. I wouldnt say a spinning reel is better for bank fishing but it may be easier go that route for now. So you can put all your focus on fising and not on backlashes
  15. Someone post the link to the senko/fat ika sure way to catch a fish thread. I think the op would benefit
  16. Yum money minnows, zoom swimming fluke, strike king shadilicious, basstrix and keitech swing impact fat all have proven themselves in my tackle box
  17. I dont think its over rated. Its far smoother than my other reels. lighter wich balances perfect on my zodias rods. And has stronger drag than all my other reels. Over rated to me would be pflueger presidents. I have 2 blue ones with too much play. And 1 limited edition with unconsistent drag
  18. Learned a lot from this thread. Thanks a lot to the guys posting their knowledge
  19. d**n, couldnt of said it better^^^ I use big game mono, i recommend it but but it gets frayed easily. Xl is pretty good too. Yo zuri is good but dont buy 15lb. Its overkill. More like 12lb
  20. Like the guy above said, i have that same rod and its exactly what your looking for. 7ft m/m bucoo. One of my favorite rods in my arsenal
  21. I also flip with spinning gear. My set up is a big bear 7'3 heavy action rod, with stradic fk 4000. 40lb maxcuatro braid to a 16lb sniper leader. I have to say i have never lost a fish due to line breakage or terminal failure. The ones i remember loosing were all my fault. I use a uni to uni to tie the lines together
  22. Sucks, do you use braid or flouro? I you use braid you can always add a heavier leader and tighten up the drag. I do it all the time
  23. Just so you can get an idea, i fish 90% of all my fishing on spinning gear. ML- 10lb braid to 8lb flouro leader M- 15lb braid to 10lb flouro leader Mh- 15lb or 20lb braid to 12 or 14lb flouro leader H- 30lb braid to 16lb flouro leader I dont think i could go back to straight flouro. Try it Ps. I flip and punch with spinning gear, when i do this i do a 20lb leader on the heavy rod with 30pb braid. I have never lost a fish due to line breakage
  24. I bought a 5'0 ultralight uglystik for my nephew. Great rods. He catches fish everytime. I usually put a ned rig on that rod and i cant complain
  25. 1. Hollow body swimbait/ fluke 2. Ned rig/ shaky head
