What this guy said, i have about 6 different baitcaster brands and i love all of them. From shimanos to okumas and quantums. Buy for my spinning gear i only use shimano. Other brands spinning reels feel cheap to me. A $80 dollar reel from any other brand feels like a $29 shimano sienna to me.
Anyone have this rod? In a casting model. Lure weight says 1/8-1/4. It also says medium fast. It looks to me as if its more of a medium light. I was gonna use it for flukes, senkos, light spinnerbaits and maybe tubes. But its probably too light? I now they also make an extra fast version but im not a big fan of extra fast rods.
If anybody have this rod please chime in. If asked for suggestions here before and it has always worked out good. Thanks again!
My arsenal of plastics consists of 5 brands.
1. Zoom ( finnese magnum, fluke, ol monster, trick worm)
2. Gycb (senko, flapping hawg, swim senko)
3. Strike king ( shadilicious, rage bug, ocho)
4. Yum (christie craw)
5. Zman (trd, pop shadz)
I find everything i need with these companies.
I have other zodias rods and they are my favorites. For punching i was looking at the 7'2. For light plastics and weightless senkos i was looking at the 6'10. You think it will work for that?
I have 2 questions. First, does anybody here have the 7'2 heavy zodias? Is it enough for punching 1oz weights?
Second, im also looking at the 6'10 medium but i see it has a moderate tip. What is that rod specifically made for? I usually use fast action rods.
Im also a die hard shimano guy but i have a quantums and i have to say they are probably my favorite reels. I will probably convert in the future. But first i gotta sell so much shimano stuff
Punching, heavy topwaters, flipping, stitching big worms and swimbaits are techniques i dont ever see myself doing with spinning gear again.and trust me ive done it before
