  1. I dont even own a net. I boat flip everything. I usually using straight 65lb braid
  2. Mh-xf is enough for that. 7'6 is plenty long also. For punching i use a 7'6 heavy mod-fast and ive never felt like i need something bigger
  3. Year round, i live in austin. We fish for bass all day everyday.
  4. What this guy said, i have about 6 different baitcaster brands and i love all of them. From shimanos to okumas and quantums. Buy for my spinning gear i only use shimano. Other brands spinning reels feel cheap to me. A $80 dollar reel from any other brand feels like a $29 shimano sienna to me.
  5. Anyone have this rod? In a casting model. Lure weight says 1/8-1/4. It also says medium fast. It looks to me as if its more of a medium light. I was gonna use it for flukes, senkos, light spinnerbaits and maybe tubes. But its probably too light? I now they also make an extra fast version but im not a big fan of extra fast rods. If anybody have this rod please chime in. If asked for suggestions here before and it has always worked out good. Thanks again!
  6. Best spinning frog rod ive used is a 7ft crucial MH. Its very stiff, more like a heavy.and i used a 4000 size reel with 30lb braid
  7. My arsenal of plastics consists of 5 brands. 1. Zoom ( finnese magnum, fluke, ol monster, trick worm) 2. Gycb (senko, flapping hawg, swim senko) 3. Strike king ( shadilicious, rage bug, ocho) 4. Yum (christie craw) 5. Zman (trd, pop shadz) I find everything i need with these companies.
  8. Berkley amp 6'6 2 peice. Around 30 bucks and its not a bad rod
  9. Only time im getting backlashes is when i skip too many times under docks. Sometimes ill get a backlash or two
  10. Can you elaborate?
  11. I learned my lesson guys. The accused person and i dont speak anymore. Wasnt the way i wanted it to end but you gotta do what you gotta do.
  12. I guess he answered his question in his post.
  13. Quick question? Why do you remove the barb?
  14. Thanks man i appreciate it
  15. I have other zodias rods and they are my favorites. For punching i was looking at the 7'2. For light plastics and weightless senkos i was looking at the 6'10. You think it will work for that?
  16. Reaction strike hooks are great
  17. I know the lure ratings on these rods, i just rather hear opinions from people who have these before i pull the trigger
  18. I have 2 questions. First, does anybody here have the 7'2 heavy zodias? Is it enough for punching 1oz weights? Second, im also looking at the 6'10 medium but i see it has a moderate tip. What is that rod specifically made for? I usually use fast action rods.
  19. Im also a die hard shimano guy but i have a quantums and i have to say they are probably my favorite reels. I will probably convert in the future. But first i gotta sell so much shimano stuff
  20. Punching, heavy topwaters, flipping, stitching big worms and swimbaits are techniques i dont ever see myself doing with spinning gear again.and trust me ive done it before
  21. I love the stupid rig
  22. Ive caught tons of fish on the shadilicious. One of my go tos. I rig it on reaction strike plasma point hooks
  23. If i were to go back to mono, there is only one line id use and that is big game. Used it for years
  24. I use the lightning shock rod 7/6 heavy. Have not had a problem yet
