Every reel recommendation on this site will be for diawa. Get what you want not what others want. The curado is an awesome reel. I beleive its equal or better than the diawa but thats personal opinion. The 7 gear ratio for sure
Whatever rod you end up using. But for reel id also recommend the lews superduty. Beast of a reel. I have 3 and they are strong. Built for flippin, frogging and punching. I even throw hudds on mine
I use 50lb braid on medium and medium heavy rods. Casts just fine. Im not taking any chances on the fish going into cover. I can horse em in without having any problems. 30lb digs in my spools when i try to horse a fish.
Using braid on a mod fast rod should have no problem setting a hook. On flouro or mono its a little harder
I also used to have all high end rods, mostly gloomis, diawas and shimanos. Due to some financial troubles i sold em off and slowly bought all lews rods. Mostly their mach2 series rods. Im as happy as i was and still catching the same fish
I do it with both. But i gotta say its fairly easy to horse in a fish from under a dock using a 6'8 medium heavy fast rod using 30lb braid on a spinning rod
You are correct. But the mach 2 rods by them selves are all im6 still. Just check at my local store. So in summary- mach2 combo is im8. Mach2 rod is im6
I used to love my lews lfs. I thought it was the beezneez. Then i bought a custom speed spool and was amazed at the difference. Now i want to try a higher end one
Im pretty sure its a typo on the website. I have the combo and its im6. I also have a rod i bought seperate and it also says im6. But idk i may have gotten the wrong rod with my combo
