Thats my baitcasters that stay on ready but i have a bunch of rounds i dont use plus about 10 spinning reels wich i,keep 2 lews speed spins ready for my spinning rods. I have alot more reels than rods...
I doubt any damage would occur from wind, bouncing(freely)or vibes as long as the eyes or rod wasnt against something.. i always secure my rods so they lay flat and cant move from bumps etc..
I fish with 4'6",5',5'6" ,6' and a 6'6" UL's certain lengths for certain presentations..all UL's feel whippy to me but thats good for papermouths, i also have a 6'6" quantam ml i throw small cranks on and its perfect for 4-6lb test
I spray can painted and clearex a blank with rust oleum and it turned out great, swithced colors to do another section but this time the clear raised the paint and wrinkled it, same brand on both???? I'll post a pic after work...
All you have to do is warm up the finish on the wrap around the keeper ,rub off the finish and unwind the keeper and place one where you want it. I hate keepers behind the reel on the handle. Just waiting to grab a rod and get hooks..
I have caught walleyes in a foot of water or less, and not during the spawn. Its kinda like the old catfish myth in that you can only catch them deep and at night...
Id jave to disagree on baitcasters neing more accurate and being able to put baits in the water more quietly, myself i can pitch with either reel and put both in a very small target, its all in fingering the spool just like thumbing a baitcaster. As for actual casting accuracy im a bit better with spinning gear and as for distance spinning gear goes further . This may not be true for everyone but is for me so it comes down to the anglers ability. For me the main advantage in baitcasters over spinning gear is being able to present more different and heavier baits that a spinning reel wich is kinda limited on the baits you can present the right way...
For 20 years every rod i bought got the plastic/shrink wrap suff left on amd i wrapped the handle with black electrical tape, i was so worried about tearing up the cork so i did that. I think now about it and came to the conclusion if i was so worried about keepin it pretty to look nice and all along what did it matter if i never see it? Ha ha ha i still baby my gear but make sure i can see it now..
Cool replies...if i tried to fish with my first set up it would not be pretty lol that short butt and trigger along with the spincast reel would feel alien to me now...
The editor in cheif at that very popular fishing magazine/show is the worst, but i think part of his reason is to make it look good on film or a photo, i dont think he does it just to make them look bigger... well maybe a little bit...
Ive caught as many, but probably more on other brands myself. A small part of that is because of price i tend to throw the cheaper brands more often but somedays if its not a senko they wont bite..
