I have big game 25lb mono on a couple river rods thats been on them for almost 2 yrs and have reeled in several cats in the 30+ range and its still strong...for what it is i think its sensitive but you could do better..

I would say if you like it and are happy with it its a winner..

I bought some of the 15 and it was about the stiffest line ive ever used/use and kinda a pain to manage, but also very strong,comparable to xt possibly a tad stronger but xt is way more managable for me...

Thats insane! If theyre killing adult breeding age bass after shocking them i cant imagine several states not trying to obtain them, it would save wichever state a ton of money compared to having them raised in their hatcherys.. here in nebraska our state guys do some things that is absoluteley ridiculous and it dont take a biologist to see it, they have to try the best they can to keep all the different fisher/hunter/outdoorsman groups and i get it but to make something worse for many to appease a very few dont make sense to me..eapecially if you look at it as a cost or investment/return.... butbwe need em either way haha

Try a strike king rage blade the two "wakes dont compare" but im sure each has their time and place...

Both can be fished the same way... to answer your question, could be,and yes. i let the fish tell me. Try a sauarebill and if nothing happens throw the chatterbait and see what happens..

4 inch grub, smoke with silver/purple flake or white on 3/8oz unpainted round leadhead...

17 is also the highest for me line wise for all my fishing with mono,fluro etc.. i use 30lb fireline once in a while but not often..

Yes its within 20 mins from home. In 05 or 06 game and parks drained the lake i learned how to fish on after it silted in and with money from our habitat reabilitation program dug out around alot of the shoreline,added riprap jetties and breakwaters etc... then refilled in 08. Between last fall and now ive caught more master angler bass from that lake than all the rest put together. The whole lake is good for most species now. On top of that they have just started building another lake like the one i posted about but almost double in size literally within a 3 min drive from home! Very excited.. the local lakes around here all have a 5mph no wake speed limit on them wich is great because i also am mot a fan of having boat wakes all over when fishing these small lakes,big lakes dont bother because theres room to go fast..

For me it would be to catch up with them because they hit them alot from behind and swim straight at me.. as for me super fast would be 8:1 or up, i use a 6:4.1 and dont have any trouble catching up with them but to each their own..

If you look at their guts they are all very similar..very.

What i do when they wont bite is i cuss em and make excuses but havent had any luck yet..

Very versatile bait, i drag em,hop em, yo yo em,stop and go em, burn em, wakebait em(as of tonight),all sort of retrives, using em like a jig works best for me with the strike king design, way less snaggy imo, i consider chatterbaits a hybrid lipless crank minus the rattle...both can be fished almost endless ways imo...and flat catch fish!

By originals do you mean the Z man chatterbaits? If so they would be easier to keep just below as they dont swim up lime the strike king design, they also dont have near the thump as the strike kings but im sure they have their times, cant wait to try it more with different brands..

Yeah i have freinds that have used them forever with no problems but none of my three made it more than a couple years except the shock, it broke the first day i used it??

So i was fishing from the bank tonight while at a party and had only a chatterbait(SK) but noticed bass eating on top and could not get a bite so i tried throwing it and burning it right under the surface and if youve thrown sk chatterbaits you know they will rise when reeled fast so it kept coming out of the water and wouldnt stay just below for long, anyways i couldnt get a bite but i tried doing the same retreive and held the tip a foot under water and would stay just below the surface and made a nice wake with swirls the whole retreive.. the bass were all over it... the turbelence/wake from that was unlike any wakebait,topwater etc.. Definiteley going into my bag of tricks...

Yeah they did a great job , it was built on a small creek plain that was pretty much level besides the creek bed, they enough man made and natural structure/cover to fill a fleet of semis haha, i walked it for a couple weeks before they filled it with my handheld and marked a ton of stuff.. just opened this spring and you can catch dozens and dozens of 12-14 inchers..cant wait for another year or two, theyre gonna grow fast!

Got the rod for 20 bucks! Cant wait to try it out..

Yeah ive had horrible luck with lightning rods breaking from fish??? But i will say for the money and before mine all broke they are about as good as it gets for the price but not if they break...

Ive used spinning and casting rods to lift bass to 5lbs from a peir i fish, from the top railing of peir to the water is 5ft id say and have done it at least 100 times and never had a rod break. I will add that i leave about 4ft from the tip to the fish of line(mono) and i dont just lift the rod, i lift them about a foot out of the water and give the rod a couple pumps to get the fish boncing so to speak and when its on a up bounce i time it so when i lift the fish its already moving up and use the momentun to take some of the pressure off my rod.. the bigger ones make me think my rod could break but hasnt yet...ive thought of using a net but theres no nets in bass fishing!!! Ive always looked at using a net for bass kinda like moving the foul line up 3 ft on the court..thats cheating..
