  1. Hit emery again to try frogs no luck. Did however get this little one on a bait I found while at nature center. Never used these rattle cranks or any cranks before and got this off first cast. Then nothing next hour or so haha.
  2. Well went to Emery to try frogs out this am and with the wind and rain I ended up just leaving
  3. This is what keep pulling out of that 55th place seems to average
  4. Yes the instinct to set hook at bite is hard to break a lesson I am learning slowly. Last couple days have been fishing that pond behind campus on 55th in Haysville. Does anyone know if the fish are stunted in there? Seems like its just tiny ones nothing to big but I really like fishing it seems like ideal place for some big ones
  5. I was just kidding with that comment I know its more than that haha
  6. Just need to start taking what you catch and fill up your pond
  7. Yeah where are some local honey holes and what are you guys pulling out of them
  8. Oh also right now dicks has buy two frogs get one free of the booyah brand if anyone interested.
  9. Glad to know emery they attack them I will have to go back and try it out again
  10. Yeah I was trying out frogs this weekend and new favorite thing is frogs. Was using them yesterday and yeah I missed about 20 times. You have to really let them take it and go down before you set hook. Its a little hard to get used to but once you figure it out its great.
  11. I was trying out some booyah frogs I bought yesterday out in Rose Hill this morning and came up empty handed. I missed out on one strike but had no other hits the hour I was out. Im guessing its all a learning curve like using all new baits. My strategy was cast it and run it along side the banks any tips?
  12. Well hit up Nature Center again today and got one and lost one. Water level has gone down a bit since id been last.
  13. I recently switched to braid and picked up the Pfeulguer presidential from Cabelas and "reely" enjoying it currently
  14. I also like the spinning the bait caster seemed like to much work. I recently played with one and liked it a little bit. I've heard people say you have more control and feel for fish when using them. Seems like you need lots of practice to get the casting down. Im sure in the future I will end up with one but until then Ill rock the fairy wand.
  15. Last year seemed alot better at Emery this year seems little slower for me. I like to try and hit at least once a week if I can.
  16. Butler you would have to be on boat more than likely to get to them. Ive only been while on boat so not sure what could really get to without one. The lily pads that is
  17. Man I should have just multi quoted haha I know butler has a few sections with lily pads. I wanna say a place I fished in debry had some but cant really recall right now.
  18. If you go off woodlawn and then take 29th west the pond I was fishing was called island pond I believe. I went this morning but with wind blowing so bad wasnt the best time. I caught one and was out for a few hours. Lost another spinner bait on something out in the water. Seem to be lots of little trees and sticks you have to watch out for when on top water.
  19. We did alright nothing to big though. Right now I am hooked on Buzz Baits and they never seem to work out at Butler. So swapped poles went with watermelon seinkos and got a dozen or so between two of us. So wasn't amazing but any day out on lake is great time fishing.
  20. Yeah I hit up emery other day and got couple with brush hawgs. Thinking about trying it out again tomorrow or sunday morning
  21. Only one way to find out lets hit it up soon
  22. Well Levi and I are hitting up ole Butler at 6am so hopefully we have some luck. I have the buzz baits ready haha. I will probably end up using the plastics though.
  23. Well I can't upload photos but my profile pic was the catch of the day yesterday
  24. I just hit up that Great Plains Nature center today and the big ones were hitting the black cavitron buzz bait.
  25. Wow been to Butler last two weekends with buddy and we caught one. I caught using a spinner bait just goofing around. So curious your setup for that power worm color anyway if you wouldnt mind.
