Newbie here. Just wondering how many folks who fish Door County, Wi on a regular basis are on this forum? If so, would be interested in where you like to fish from shore or off piers. I am compiling some info for a project I am working on, and it would be helpful to get info from other avid DC smallie fishermen about where they like to fish from shore or off docks/piers.
Having been up in DC for over a year now, and having caught hundreds of smallies, I have a few spots that I recommend to folks, especially in Ephraim, Sister Bay, and Rowleys Bay area. Since I do not have a boat, knowing where you can go to catch smallies from shore or off docks is a great resource to have. Have not done much fishing in Fish Creek, Ellison Bay, Baileys Harbor, Egg Harbor, or Sturgeon Bay, but I am sure there are some great spots there as well. Any info would be appreciated!
FYI, some of our best fishing should be happening in the next couple weeks as the big females move in to spawn. Season opened last Saturday and have caught 15 or so smallies 14 inches or better, along with 40 and 35 inch northerns, and a couple walleye over 23 inches.
