  1. PRS now, Use to shoot Trap (ATA) an was very accomplished years ago. Don't really shoot much PRS right now Powder, & Primers are way too hard to find an when you do its $$$$.
  2. Thanks, Going to talk to another installer tomorrow an see what they recommend. All the installers I have talked to have a zero bias reputation. And are dealers for all 3 units. So I hope that I am getting a non bias feedback. I'll keep you all updated on my decision. But so far if I was told to go with a whole boat package in the same system Lowrance has been the winner.
  3. As title states I am looking at new Electronics all the way around the boat. 2 New graphs livescope/active target, and trolling motor. I would like everything to talk to one another to make life easier but if thats not possible I understand. Here is where I am at, I have talked to 2 reputable marine dealers that carry both products. Both have said the same thing. Trolling motor: I have heard to go with the Ghost. Ghost PRO's Spotlock is suppose to be the best out right now. An very very few issues. CON's: Not the most powerful or quietest. Force: PRO's: Powerful, Quiet. Con's: have had general issues (didn't ask for specifics.) Spotlock issues. as well as software problems. Graphs: HDS live's for the 2D an Down/Side imaging. Garmin for the Livescope since it has been out longer. With the caveat that they like active target think its a little clearer an will be switching when all the bugs are out of it. The only I know of or them as of right now is some Xducer's have been DOA. I know not one company makes the best of everything but i'm trying to make the best of what I have. I 1 unit on my boat now a 7"Ti. Now im not brand loyal so that don't weigh in my decision. What i'm wondering is if Garmin has had this tech for the last 2-3 years what are they sitting on now? I have posted some of this on another Thread but wanted to post on my own to get more input. This is a lot of money an i just want to make the right decision for me an be happy with my purchase. I pretty much only Bass, an Crappie fish. with time between the 2 about 50/50 at this moment. Thanks, Shifty
  4. I wonder since this tech. is 2-3 years old for Garmin wonder what they have been sitting on waiting for someone else to catch up before they drop the next thing? I just wonder since i am in the market for a new electronics all the way around. Trolling motor graphs whole 9 yards. I am now having a hard time deciding between the 2. Consesnus i get is Trolling motor Ghost. no its not the most powerful or quiet. But it works an has has very few problems an Spot lock was the about the best. Lowrance again for the Down/Side an 2d sonar. but Garmin for the Live scope.
  5. I have 2 new rods that I am setting up first is MH 7'6" flip/pitching rod, Second is a MH 7'0" Cranking rod for lipless in cover an deeper cranks. Now I have 2 reels an can't decide what to match up to what rod they are. 7.1 Lews, An 8.1 Tatula. My plan was to put the 8.1 on the flipping pitch rod an 7.1 on my cranking rod. I am now thinking about putting the tatula 8.1 on the crank rod an lews 7.1 on the flipping stick. Since I figure the tatula is a better caster ( I have 1 now on a cranking rod that I really like) But I have no experience with the Lews) The 7.1 would be fine on the flipping rod but I didn't know about the cranking rod? Would the 8.1 be too fast with the lipless? I know it would be too fast with the deep cranks unless I was really conscious of slowing my roll. OR should I stick with my main idea? Just started having second thoughts since I love the way my other tatula casts. its on a M 7'0" rod. My question on line, I was planning on running 30lb. braid to 12lb. P-line CXX leader. but my rod has micro guides I tie a FG knot for braid to leader. Has anyone had any problems running this on a rod with micro guides? Or should I just run a the CXX exclusively? Thanks in advance! Shifty
  6. Yeah I am waiting to see what the final price is going to be on the 60th aniv. from TW. I've spotted regular tatula 100's for 88 if you shop around. Here is where I am at as of now looking at the Carbon lite 2.0 7'6" MH goes up to 1-1/2oz. (looking for a lighter flipping/pitching rod) With my gift cards I could get it for $39. pretty hard to beat at that price point I think. I would save it for tackle or something else but im pretty loaded up on that right now, wanting to fill a rod gap at this moment. Figure worst case scenario I would have $149 (could be better depending upon the price brake) in both Rod an Reel. An yes I have decided that I am going with the Tatula why gamble when I know I will love the Daiwa.
  7. So I’m looking at a Tatula 60th. Aniv. Mode 8.1 will be on Säle in the coming TW sale. Im also looking at the Revo SX. 8.1. From BP on sale for 119. Now both reels will be on sale for the same price. An need Help deciding. Here is the kicker I have a revo X an a Tatula type-R absolutely love my Tat. Great reel. Revo leaves a lot to be desired. I was hoping the SX would make up for the X’s short comings. But I have $50 in cards for BP that would lower the SX to $79 Vs $119 of the Tat. I have two options since I’m looking for a flipping/pitching rod as well. Plan was to buy Reel From BP an doybns 765 flipping rod from TW. Now I’m so confused, I was really looking forward to saving some money with the $50 card I have
  8. Kinda Forgot about Pflueger reels, thanks for reminding me about them. I have always heard good things about them. Yeah I just want to try a sample of what is out there. Case in point I Have several Abu reels an was a die hard Abu fan. Had on older cheaper Diawa I didn't really care for. But took the advice of another forum member an tried a Type-R. I was pretty skeptical at first but after about an 1hr casting in the yard I really started to grow fond of it. Now I can't cast that reel the farthest that award goes to my Abu (now I know several factors come into play on that) I donlt think its the smoothest either. But I just like the way it fits my hand, Seems like I set the backlash adjustment an its always spot on after that consistent, just a reel that I really enjoy can't really put a finger on why I like it so much it does have down falls but its one that I pick up an makes me happy. Guess my point is I wouldn't have known if it wasn't for getting out an trying something new. Really appreciate your input an your spot on with lews I really like both casting (haven't had much time with but really liking), an spinning reel I have.
  9. So I had a bass pro fiasco this weekend, not happy won’t be doing much of, if any business there anymore. Long story short was trying to place my second order Monday when my account locked up, all I could do everything except add things to my shopping cart an check out, not only did I miss Monday sales, my order from last Friday (Black Friday was cancelled as well) Anyway 2 missed orders 2 calls plus multiple chats with bass pro My account is working again. So I had a Johnny Morris spinning reel ordered in a 2xxx series for $69 was going to go on a Medium Light rod I have. What would be a good alternative to this reel comparable fit, finish wise? I am not brand loyal I’ve been trying to get all samples of the kool-aid before drinking any 1 flavor. Not many requirements this will be on a dedicated finesse rod. Just wanting to know who makes a good comparable reel that would be on par with this one I missed. fwiw I have a lot of casting reels only 1 quality spinning reel, A lews 3000 series. Out of the casting reels (shimano, Lews, Diawa, Abu.) I’m really liking my Tatula type-R. Still not making any conclusions yet. So the only other consideration I would say would be any other than a Lews nothing against them just wanting to try more brands Thanks, Shifty
  10. Ahhh didn't know he was leaving Quantum, I heard that he might be but didn't hear any diff. Yeah I got in on the BF sale. I may regret not spending the extra money for the KVD Rod but I heard good things about the Okuma as well we will see. Maybe I should have dropped some of my other stuff to be able to stay in my budget an get the KVD rod in my budget.
  11. That is where I got my stuff from was TW. I seen it an almost got it but I went with Okuma. TW still has it on sale its 119 right now, said reg. price was 170. IDK if 119 is the TW reg. price or not.
  12. Ended up calling them back again, she sent in an inquiry an I was told I would receive a phone call, later that day no call ever came an still didn't work last night looks like its back to working now but most the sales are over. I ended up just ordering from TW. I did try clearing my cookies an both phone an pc an still didn't work. So instead of getting a cranking-stick 7'-MH I substituted in an Okuma EVX 7' MH cranking rod. Reel I went with the Lews Mach 1 speed spool over the BP pro qualifier 2. And picked up some more Missile baby D-bombs, an other random stuff. I was debating between the KVD Tour Cranking Rod an Okuma, Other one I was looking at was the Abu veritas crank MH but it was sold out. So I went with Okuma. KVD was just a little more than I was wanting to spend.
  13. Tried calling ( waited on hold for 20min. for the guy to say he didn't know an just keep trying.) didn't see the live chat option till just a little bit ago an it was past 10 so i'll have to wait till tomorrow. I don't think anything I wanted was on the cyber Monday except 5x points. Rest of the stuff looks to be on sale rest of week.
  14. Not sure if this is off topic here but not sure where else it would fit in at. Is anyone having trouble checking out at bass pro? I go to my cart an click checkout an I get this error message" Error:A generic inventory system exception occured. The exception is as follows: "There is an outbound service error when processing." Is anyone else having these issues? Tried from my phone an regular PC.
  15. After doing more reading I just cant stick the Xducer anywhere an expect it to work. I need this to work at high speeds without loosing ground as it is the only Xducer on the boat. Seems like if I were to put the Xducer on the second shelf I will encounter cavitation problems. From my photo If I were to remove the current Xducer an speed sensor, and place a transom saver board with new Xducer on the same spot would this be ideal since it is about at close to the bottom as I can get. Another thought was to carve the transom saver to the shape of the first shelf next to pump out location on the right. And mount on on the V-part where the bunk is in current contact with boat. Any thoughts?
