I was wanting to know if anyone would be willing to lead me in the right direction for bass fishg on lake greeson.Me, the wife, and kids are making the trip up there at the end of this month. We are coming from just south of baton rouge,la. All I would like to know is,what are the most common baits ( and colors )used on the lake, do I need to fish cover or deep water? I fish mainly in the Atchafalaya here in Louisiana and you pretty much just ride around and cast at the bank all day. Not much deep structure fishing, this is what I have come accustomed to. We are renting a 'fishing barge' pontoon boat so we will not have depth finders or gps. Just would like to know how to generally fish the lake and what types of baits for bass( large mouth, small mouth, anything that bites mouth)lol. Planning on trying a zoom speed craw texas rigged in a green pumpkin color. From what I understand this is a clear water lake, I am not used to fishing that. We fish bandit chartreuse and blue crankbaits here a lot and have good luck with that. I am not sure if I can use that on this lake or not, another favorite of mine is a zoom super fluke in a smoking silver color. Gonna give that a try also. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated!
