  1. Felt it and wasn't impressed with it. It was a show model, could have had it's share of drops, but I have to go with what I can actually get my hands on. The only complaint with the Tournament HS is the fact that it's a bit tight as far as the handle goes, smooth, but tight. Then again, just a few uses, I expect it to be tight. Should be the perfect combo come next spring. It's already time to bust out the heavier combos in my neck of the woods.
  2. Ok...real update now. Got it out on the water and decided to toss a PopR and she handles really well. Doesn't feel like a 6'10 rod, especially next to my 7' Veritas 2.0. Great action. Held up to an explosive 2.53lb smallmouth. Almost lost him under the dock. Overall, if I used more than one spinning outfit, I'd be buying another one of these....especially at $120 below MSRP.
  3. Here she is in all her beauty.
  4. The BB1 and Team Lite are the reasons I went to the spinning tab on their website. Was supposed to go fishing this morning, but came down with something overnight. I'll give a review as soon as possible. Same goes for my Dixie Custom rod. Feels great and the cork is even better.
  5. Boys, I wish I had gotten back on here sooner. Got the Lew's Tournament HS and it's an amazing reel compared to my Trion, and it was already a good reel. Was seriously looking at rods, and even went to the BPS and ended up getting both the reel and the rod from a local shop. Paid retail for the reel, but obviously stole the rod, IROD IRA6101S...what a rod. Picking up some other stuff for our trip tomorrow, reel, rod, 300yd spool of 10# Super Natural, and a few packs of crappie grubs came to $237 and change. Got home, looked up the rod, lists at $249. I was amazed. I'll post pics tomorrow after we get back.
  6. I've got tons of crap in the waters here and have yet to have any issues with the guide gunking up. Same goes for winter fishing. Below freezing air temps have yet to freeze my eyes.
  7. Yea...PM me that answer. Hate to let it out to too many people.
  8. You may want to reread the post. I said I have a Pflueger, and I'm upgrading to a Lew's. And no Shimano will ever be in my boat due to horrific customer service.
  9. Right now I'm using an old Pflueger Trion and it's been great over the years. 6'M, held up to the abuse. I'm looking to upgrade to a Lew's spinner, preferably the Team Gold or the Tournament High Speed. Now, I know my baitcasters, size, weight, and whatnot. Spinning gear is a crapshoot for me. My Trion is the 4730GX series, and I'd like to have a Lew's in the same size. And I'm looking to upgrade the rod as well. I've looked at a few Fenwicks, both the HMG and HMX, both 6'6" MF, and I've looked at the Cabonlite in the same specs. I'm just wanting everyone's opinions as to where to head with this. I plan on using either 15# Power Pro Super Slick braid or 8-12# Sunline Super Natural. Usually use the rod for smaller jigheads and jerkbaits.
  10. I have the Veritas 2.0 in a 7' MH. Love it and haven't had the issues people are talking about. And if anyone can point me to their 7'M with micros, I'd love you for it.
  11. In a separate topic, we got into talking about the optional knobs/handles for Lew's reels. If the picture listed on their site is correct, the carbon fiber replacement has the same knobs as the BB1. My question is, it's listed as a righty, will it fit a lefty with the hardware that came with the reel? I know it comes with the spare hardware for the righty. And it turns out my handle is worth $90 with hardware, 70 without. Anyone willing to trade?
  12. I use 1/2 oz with a 12-18" leader on either my 7' Veritas 2.0, which does an amazing job, or my new Dixie Custom 6'8 MH. The Dixie has the better feel, and it is the one I have the Team Lite on, so it gets used the most. Had 29,25 the last two trips. We're finally part of the group of people who are catching in the 20s around here.
  13. Guys, I may be new here, but Jesus Christ. We're grown men and women here, let's keep it civil. You want to argue? That's what PMs are for. And they do sell the nut, nut lock, and lock screw. But seeing as I have the nut, nut lock, and lock screw, I just need the handle. And sorry, but the handle won't be for sale unless you can match price for the new handle. I'd like to keep everything together just in case something happens and I sell it, but I'd rather have the smaller handles. And what are the slots on the side of the current knobs for? Surely they're not for changing them out...
  14. I have 4 BB1s and just recently got a Team Lite. Only complaint about the TL is the fact that the knobs are huge to what I'm used to using. Anyone know it the replacement carbon fiber handle, it's stated on the package on their site that it's righty only, would work on the lefty model? I'm really wanting to stick with the carbon fiber handle, but I want the smaller knobs like the BB1.
  15. You guys are making me feel really stupid about the $150 I paid for my SOG Spec Elite I.
