Pyramid lake has the dry checks. Many have been turned away at the boat ramps, 2-3 drops found. So they drive down to the central valley and fish the lakes in the Bakersfield area.

I heard the north delta, or Sacramento area Delta has SMs. They stay up north. Youtube is a good place for research.

You can also try the high schools. i don't know if your son is in high school yet. North Coast CIF is your catch area. Your athletic director should give you directions. If he's in jr high, you have to wait. See your messages, I sent you more info. Also, try get him a kayak. He can get on the water with his own vessel and he can meet up with other kayakers.

You can kayak the Castiac Lagoon. Stone Canyon is in the area, check before you go out there. Hollywood Reservoir is there too. You can try fishing in Marina Del Rey. Find a charter for some deep sea stuff.

I grew up in Central Washington and fished Potholes and surrounding lakes. You can fish all year in central Wa. It's a trip but there are places to fish all over the basin. If you see the candy cane water tank, you're in the right spot. LOL

it's interesting that the north and central bodies of water are not going through the same problem. Here in the Valley, we have full lakes, healthy population of fish and even brought back a lake, Tulare Lake. I wonder if this is only So-Cal lakes. Any issues up at Clear or the Delta?

How's everyone doing today? after the crazy floods this past weekend Lake Success utilized the spillway for the first time in years. homes along the Tule River were evacuated and whole streets who flooding in small towns.

The rain keeps coming. At Lake Success, Cen Cal Elite Saturday event the biggest bag was 2.76 lbs. the high school event on Sunday, not much was caught but a young man caught a 2.1 for big bass. Each kid got a combo for their hard work in the rain. The lake is filling up fast.

I would say Delta. It would be easier to see the big girls swimming around in the calmer waters of Clear Lake. I would prefer the Delta.
