  1. After driving about 40 min to look at it. Found out the guy was an over the road truck driver and he was not there. His wife was there to show the boat, which was still in the shed with LOTS of stuff piled around it. Turned out the keys were nowhere to be found and the hitch was locked. I couldn't even pull it out into the sun. Long story short...no sale. Now looking at a G3 165 2006, but 3 hours away. Thanks for the input.
  2. Is there any wood on this boat? Transom? Casting decks? Floor? Owner said he "thought" it had 4 batteries. So 36 volt trolling motor? Is this a good thing or bad? Besides cosmetic stuff are there any Bass Tracker specific issues to look for? He said it has been garage kept as long as he has had it and rarely left outside from the previous owner. I am expecting to find a boat in great condition. Thanks for any help.
  3. I looked at the boat today, but was not impressed. Thanks for the input. I will be looking at a 2004 Bass Tracker 185 PT Wednesday.
  4. There is a 2003 Lowe 17' boat with a 50 hp Mercury 2 stroke for sale locally. I have had a fiberglass boat years ago and know a little about boats, but have never had an aluminum boat. The decks are aluminum so they should be ok. I'm just looking for what to look at on this boat. Obviously, cracks in the transom or other places. Is there anything else that would be bad and not feasible to repair that I should look for. I plan to check the compression on the motor and check the oil in the lower unit. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also, he is at $5000. Is it worth the money if it is on good shape with minimal wear on the interior. I do know the boat is camo. Not preferred but I haven't found any fish yet that cared what color the boat was . I hope the camo is factory installed and not put on late on a Friday night .
