  1. You will get a lot of loops if you don't close it manually... especially if you are using light flouro
  2. Where I am they are undercover or hanging out in the middle deep. hard to get them to bite slow approach is always best. they are not gonna take things like spinnerbaits or buzzbaits. slow moving plastics work best like Senkos-creatures-flukes-crawfish all GaryY plastics if you can its worth it!! Floating jerkbaits especially the jointed 1's the chicks like those. Swimbaits!! but not for your average angler and I myself only use 'em when i already have a couple fish caught.
  3. Recently I was in Costa Rica fishing from an SUP everyday in the surf.... got flipped by a wave and lost my pole... the next day I did the same exact thing!!! couldn't believe it. talk about not learning your lesson Ha ha. spent the next couple weeks snorkeling a couple times a day looking for those poles and never found 'em... where do they go???? on the bright side I caught a ton of fish so I guess it was a trade off.
  4. my mistake on the post should have read the rules better....thanks
  5. DON"T LET THEM SEE YOU!! you can't stress that enough. put away your boat and walk the bank that's where they are!! that's what I do. wear matching foliage clothing and be real sneaky. make sure you are throwing something different every time to the same fish. I have a lot of luck with weightless flukes on a light spinning rod with 6lb flouro twitching it back and forth over the nest it really ticks them off. also Gary Y creatures slow crawling towards it. Please be gentle with these bass they are stressed out enough without our selfish acts of self indulgence. ha ha
  6. Weightless!!!!!! drag 'em real slow texas rigged... worms dont jump around on the bottom and get GY senkos they are worth every penny
  7. Hey Hootie I use to think the same thing... but i started fishing a pond where all they will take is a senko so I started to work with it a lot and perfect it. now I catch more fish on senkos than anything everywhere. Hint# 1 - always leave slack in the line ( it falls more naturally and gives them a chance to play with it) # 2- worms don't jump around the bottom # 3- they have it more times than you think you just have to hook 'em # 4- and most importantly only Gary Y senkos work 100% of the time ( have had luck with others but you can't compare)
  8. I think you answered this question yourself b4 anybody responded...
  9. I always think it's funny when someone says "I just use this $50 rod and pole and catch a ton of fish" that's great and all but that sounds more like you are out to just pull something in or you are just cheap.
  10. I found a new spot (to me) it is so shallow about 1 to 2 ft. really small pond.( pic included ) the fish are generally small about 1 to 2 pounds from what I have caught so far. Here in California we have had a drought for a long time but after a winter of decent rain we actually have more water than usual for the last couple years. my question is: Are these bass new? how long would it take them to get to the 1 to 2 pounds they are. I couldn't imagine they could live in there when the summer drys everything up again?
  11. Bank fishing takes more skill ,stealth and an ability to work with less. ( easy to say when u can't afford a boat)
