  1. Way2slow, Your comments make a lot of sense. I'll buy a top brand marine battery with around 1000cca. My 2 trolling motor batteries are still in good shape and I have a 2bank charging system on them. thanks again for the input here,
  2. Thanks Gameover. I too used to do stereos that went to IASCA a few times. Optima I've heard of, but never used. Heard good things of their marine series. NBR, I have a 2 bank charger on my trolling batts. Have trolled nearly 12hrs continuous, and never ran them dead.. Guess I figured the charging system on the motor would take care of the cranking battery. Buddy of mine told me to get a high quality trolling battery for a crank battery.. Now I'm confused. LOL Well, no hurry now. I'll get something soon. thanks for the suggestions.
  3. I have a '92 Evinrude Intruder 150 on 92 Stratos. A little cold natured, but isn't too bad to get cranked. Runs sweet still. Anyhow, is time to buy a new battery for cranking. What brand, etc. would some recommend? I don't mind spending for the best, as I've experienced being towed in before from my previous Sprint/Johnson 115. (twice) and was too aggravated to think about using either of the 2 trolling batts to start. Was on a big lake about 10yrs ago, that I had never been on and kinda got paranoid I guess. :-/
  4. oh my..beer! .......whew. I like most any beer. Kinda depends on mood. Busch light draft for the "Cornflakes in a Can" for breakfast, (j/k) or some Bud Lt for after mowing the yard, or Guiness, Heineken, Corona, Killians, etc. for quality enjoyment... Is there a bad beer? Yep.. Natural Light Ice, Keystone, blacklabel, and a few more comes to mind.. sorry for rambling... word beer kinda excites me. lol
  5. Thanks for the welcomes.. RW, was a tough bite today. Frost on the punkin at sunrise, and lake water temps at 68-70f... Needs to drop on down around 61-63. The 20-25mph winds with whitecaps didn't help much either. Ended up with about 6 fish boated on jigs, and small spinner baits.. Tough day, but at least wasn't skunked. I'm satified... sorta. lol
  6. BlackBear Landing, Lake James, NC.
  7. Heading to lake in morning early. Supposed to be in low 30's tonight brrrrrr... hoping for another view like this that I enjoyed about a month ago.. and maybe a few smallies in the boat as well
  8. Hi folks. Been lurking here a little while now, along with some other forums. I did have my boat offered here for sale, but decided to keep her. Had many inquiries which wasn't able to come through for this and that reason (thank goodness). I still fish whether I have a boat or not. Have several buddies where we take turns on the outings with each other's boats. Anyhow, just wanted to officially say hello to all the active posters, and the lurkers. Have come to see this is a clean, very informative forum where it's all about fishing, other than how much ya boat costs, or how much tackle you have. Thumbs up to you guys who have the experience, and offer the free information just to help others enjoy the sport. Looking forward to continually stopping by to read the posts. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute some too.
  9. I have a 92 Stratos with 150 Evinrude with jackplate, hotfoot, ss prop. She's great on rough water with little spray, and tops out at appx. 68mph (which I don't do often!). I love my Stratos!!
