  1. braid to flouro leader material 100% of the time and a long leader 15 or 20 feet . 30 or 40 braid main line. 17 or 20 leader for the big cranks. 15 for every thing else. ill never go back
  2. all fish eat smaller fish. a bait fish pattern will never fail. even blue gills in muddy water will be silver in color. a shad pattern will always work. so will a green pumpkin. im convinced color is least important putting a bait in front of a hungry fish will get bit
  3. you are human !
  4. never fished a 744, i own a 745 that fishes jigs really well. i fish a 3/4 oz f.b. 95 percent of the time on my 784. i love the extra length and wouldnt go any shorter than 7'6
  5. dx 784 hp hands down. i own jig rods in destroyer, orochii xx, Nrx, edge, 784 is my favorite rod
  6. is that on the lower colorado?
  7. if i only fished farm ponds it be a kayak. but i fish big public lakes. so for me bass boat hands down
  8. Phoenix has passenger rear deak rod locker storage. Similar to legend which is nice. Flip a coin.
  9. The dislike i used to have for them was rooted in my own jealousy. Especially when they came to my home lake and turned the place into a mad house all summer long. Its turned into a sort of admiration. More power to those guys. (Not an avid follower or even subscriber. Just a fellow fisherman)
  10. Thats a cool stretch of river. Get you a cheater swimbait and start skippin the reeds
  11. Up, down, or across?.. ALL THAT! Fish all that!
  12. Fish alot. In a lake where big ones live.
  13. Right now. Deep crankin 500dd, 6xd
  14. Not to rare around here.
  15. If there is monsters in there glides and huds
  16. On lakes it dont matter. Fish the whole point! If you have good electronic use them to locate bait and bass. I.e. Traditionally Fork my home lake, fishes poorly when the gates are open. (I think this is more of an excuse for guides on a bad day) when they are open releasing water down river into the sabine. It creates current but we would never know. Ive seen fish relate to points up stream, down stream, and right on top. Start where you graph bait or activity. Simple
  17. Dont be afraid to fish behind other boats or pressured water. Fork is my home lake and highly pressured. Here its just part of the deal.
  18. It was really similar to a smashtech head smasher. There are several local guys that pour the exact same mold around the lake. Thats what it looked like to me
  19. Last week there was a school busting in the middle of the lake right in the boat lane probably a mile from the nearest shore line. So you never know
  20. Small 1/4 inch hole punch. Mark her anal fin everytime you catch her
  21. Im sure those are excellent rods. I have several in the previous gen orochii xx and perfect pitch is still one of my favorites for frogging and flipping.
  22. Ive got one and it is amazing but Imho it should of been called the 873 Trr. Its the ultimate texas rig rod. For c rigs i like a longer rod. Any sensitive rod atleast 7.5 foot in H or MH. I own several that make great c rig rods. My personal favorite is acutally a jig rod. 784 M.L. dobyns Extreme. Wasnt aware loomis had an 874. Interesting!
  23. Ill keep a limit of small bass and spots ocassionally. Any accidental catch of sand bass or crappie or catfish most often gets eaten. I keep zip locks and fillet knife in the boat. Love eating fresh fried fish
