Reels are pretty goodtoday. I can outcast my hook setting ability on some applications. I think getting a good feel for the reel is what works. I use probably 75% centrifugal breaks 25% thumb. I guess. I'm pretty sure the engineers @ shimano design breaks that work more efficiently than my thumb can.
Split shot or Carolina rig live crawdads have worked really well for me. Last time I fished live crawdads I caught a 5# the crawdad was crushed. It looked like it got hit with a ball pin hammer
I used to use as big of a ewg as I could get away with. Now I do the opposite. And try to use regular offset Worm hooks. Especially with thinner plastic baits. The smaller the hook the better natural action the bait will have.
Texas rig it for tight condensed cover and structure. Carolina rig it for covering water . Fanning points. Dragging creek beds, humps, etc. Use a heavier rod with fast taper. Drag it, hop it, slow as you can stand. And hang on for dear life brother. I freaking love wormin.
I just fished clear lake for the first time today going back tomorrow. The sight fishing is unreal. Unlike anything I've experienced.super clear until the algae bloom at mid day. Bed fish 4 pound fry gaurders and it's almost July. Lots of fun.
day 1 at clear lake caught some top water fish and bed fish on drop shot. Today took sight fishing to a whole nother level. Loved it. Much thanks to Mr. ROSS ENGLAND for providing a very professional guided trip. My first time hiring a guide was money well spent. I would recommend him to anyone
I'm just saying I've taken pics that made some fish look bigger. not necessarily intentional. But truth is the closer the fish is to the lense the better the picture will be. I'm not poor, nor fooling myself. Ive caught plenty of nice ones so I don't need to. I'm just saying it happens. Magazines and TV shows are some of the worse.
Taking a picture of a fish anyway you want doesn't bother me. But lying does forsure.however manipulation for undeserved credit isn't practicing good morals. In the scheme of things some fisherman are doing way way worse things then taking misleading pictures.
Everyone has done this (I'm guilty) . Holding the 4 pound chunk way too close to the cell phone camera, hiding hands fingers. And shout "WHOO SoN" click click click and viola. LUNKER. what do Yall think about this little trick.I know I call out my buddies When they try to pull a fish story.
I'll be in northern California next week visiting my inlaws. They live about 20 minutes from clear lake. I'll probably break down and hire a guide. I've already contacted one. But the anticipation is killing me. I understand that fishing isnt catching. But I can't help but have some expectations.
What's up my fellow anglers!? Its apparent many on this app. Share the same love for bass fishing as I do. My father and grandfather introduced me to fishing as a very young child. And have been absolutely hooked ever since. I am in a new chapter of my life. After much hard ship I have dedicated my life to the good lord. And have been over a year living free from drugs and alcohol. It is truly by the grace of God that I am alive and well today and for that I am thankful.
