  1. I have this theory that I just can't drive home to many people that I have fished with. I lost count of how many times I get the look of " really, another one " . I out fish everybody I fish with. I try not to offer too much advice because I don't want to come across as a know it all. I can tell you the difference. Every cast I make has a purpose. It always has , even as a kid. I visualize each cast and thought is put into where to throw that cast. When I was younger, I used to call it " thinking like a fish ". That is all I do. I break down the area in my head and make a conscious decision where a fish might be. That's where I cast. I can't tell you how many people just tie on a jointed rapala and throw it anywhere and everywhere. Now as a seasoned gentleman I cary a arsenal to help find them. I don't know if anyone will even care or not. But maybe someone who fits this description can just try and " think like a fish "
  2. Are you motoring, or paddling ? If you are motoring, I never sit idle. My foot is always hitting the pedal as to keep moving. If I have a bite, or catch a fish. That location may get 3 or 4 more casts. Then it's on I go. I typically work a shoreline from point point. I never spend more than a few casts per location. That's just what works for me. Am I missing some fish ? Probably. But the lake is full of fish.
  3. I bought the last 2 canoes that Dicks had a couple of years ago for $200 each. I sold them the next year for $250 each.

  5. Stand behind the motor and spin the prop by hand. Look for a bent prop shaft. It happened to me and it's not a cheap fix. Luckily for me, it didn't make any noise.
  6. It's time to prepare to head to Florida for the winter. No more heating the house for me !
  7. Ah.... Another one bites the dust, and another ones gone, another ones gone, another one bites the dust.

  10. I try to not get that serious about things. I live my life in complete gratitude of my present being. I don't think about tomorrow, and I try my best to forget yesterday. When anyone is too serious and starts to make plans ( or decisions ) , I get nervous. Just let me roll with the punches.
  11. You caught that fish ! Own it !
  12. 2 foot swell in that boat ? You're a bigger man than me.
  13. 44 gallons x going rate.... approximately $120 + $45 gallon pre mix oil.
  14. I religiously use ZOOM super fluke. I like the paddle tail over the split tail. Favorite color is Houdini. Twitch, jerk, swim, suspended. ... you choose
  15. Looks like the transom is rivited in. Lund's are big up north here. Typically a quality boat.
  16. And most importantly and accurate to this date. VINYL RULES ! Everything sounds better in vinyl
  17. Whats the old saying 2 best days of owning a boat. The day you buy it, and the day you sell it.
  18. IDK. I will take price and condition over expectations any day
  19. All depends on the budget. Are we talking $5,000 or $25,000 ?
  20. Caught my PB last week on "Green pumpkin crazy legs" on a skirted jig. I first started using it last winter while holding out in Florida. Florida fishing is way different than NY fishing. I just let it hit bottom and wait a bit, then slowly twitch. I would guess that 25% -50% of the bite happens on the original fall.
  21. Graveyard Cars for one Loved American version of Top Gear

  25. One reason I wouldn't buy one. And the Nitro has a balsa wood floor. I wouldn't buy that either. No wood please ! The 2009 Smokercraft 171 pro bass I traded had a wood floor also. It was almost identical to the Tracker 175 I traded it last month and the wood floor up front wouldn't even hold a screw for the trolling motor. Got rid of that boat quickly.
