  1. I Just got me one at Cabelas last week on sale for 8 bucks......can't wait to chuck it in and around the slop.
  2. I use the under armour ISO chill version and am generally pleased thus far.
  3. Thanks for all the advice fellas. We opted to fish areas we had pre fished and had a limit of small ones early. It was super windy today and rainy but we hung in there and culled out all of them except 1. Our lake rules only allow you to keep 4 over 16 inches or 4 12-14 inch or any combo of the two just none that are touching 14 or under 16. We had 3 that were in the mid 16-17 inch and 1 13incher. Guess next time we will add in some time for targeting fish left over in the marina area. I believe it was 11 or 12 lbs that took first place and we had little over 7lbs.
  4. There is a good size tournament on sat and they usually end up with 30-60 boats total. The lake is a power plant lake with water temps in high 60s to mid 70s , several feeder creaks and the deepest part is approx 35 feet. The host marina is located just of the main lake near the power plant and the fish are released inside this cove immediately after weigh in. My question is how far and how fast will these released fish go? We have a tourney the very next day should we start closer to the releas site and fish for those fish or go hit the normal morning spots further down the lake? Thanks for the advice.
  5. I went through this process also and discovered braid is the key and very short jerks on slack line works best. Once the frog starts walking correctly I make small downward jerks on a slack line, wrist motion is like your Drawing a V with your rod tip alternating left right .....I'm not a fan of braid either but now I have a dedicated frog rod / reel with this setup. If you wanna fish a jig or big worm on this just tie on about 3-5 floro leader and then your good to go. Good luck!
  6. Which app specifically are you using? I have the app where you can use your iPad with your hds touch unit but I can't find any mapping app from avionics for 9.99. thanks
  7. My local shop replaces guides / eyes for about 8 bucks. My guess is it was damaged during shipping. I have 5 Powell rods 3 infernos and 2 diesels and generally average about 3 fishing days per week and I have never had an issue with any of the Powell rods. I even used one of my diesel rods as my frog rod last year and pulled some toads out without a wrinkle one. Find you a local shop, get it fixed and enjoy a quality rod at a bargain price.....net!
  8. Anyone used this reel and have some imput? I am a fan of Lews and Abu Garcia and Lews has taken the lead in my boat was verbal outnumbering the Abu's and I am now looking to add this reel and pair it with a new Powell inferno 765c for some summer time frog action and pitching a jig into medium cover. My man n from naren with this s reel is it's physical size. I will be ordering it online and haven't got to feel it in real life. I like the size and feel of the Abu's and have several 3rd gen revo sx and stx in addition to 5 other Lews reels. I can't remember all of the different models I have but I do not have any of the Bb1 or bb2 as I have played around with those but they just seem to wide and don't feel right in my hand. Any advice is much appreciated.
