  1. I’ll be headed to North Alabama, staying in Hartselle. Going down November 18-23. I plan to fish Guntersville and want to fish a TVA lake as well. What do you guys recommend and what’re you catching them on? Any help at all is appreciated.
  2. Gotcha, thanks for the info!
  3. Thanks though! I'll give it another week or so and if I still got nothing I'll give them a call.
  4. Thank you very much sir. The first link in your post didn't work also.
  5. I was wondering if anyone has purchased a new Minn Kota product recently and done the rebate. I bought an 80lb fortrex February 20 2016 and sent my rebate form in along with all the other stuff it required about a week after purchase and haven't recieved my rebate yet. Just curious if they always take this long or what. Thanks guys!
  6. Balzout FTW!! I'll never trust my electronics to any other mount.
  7. i know a lot of guys are puttin a hurting on them slow rolling spinnerbaits.
  8. theres lots of marinas on the Mississippi in st. charles. they're all in coves too so you don't need to fight current when loading and unloading like on the missouri river.
  9. mine is 6'6" mh and i love it for smaller crank baits and poppers and walking baits.
  10. Creve coeur lake I believe is an under 10hp rated lake. I'd try the Mississippi River, there's lots of marinas in the St Charles area with decent ramps in coves out of the current.
  11. We float the big piney a few times a year, so nice to go out there and float and not worry about boat traffic or ever seeing another person! Those goggle eye are good eatin too!
  12. I haven't used the striker but I looked into them, I decided against them because you can't network them with other units or store waypoints. The hb helix 7 the next one up the totum pole at $700 and has mapping along with the ability to store waypoints but again the hb helix 7 doesn't have networking capabilities.
  13. Here's the video
  14. It actually mounts on the back of the boat, lift up the lid for the battery compartment set them in there and then close the lid, never had an issue with them and there is a strap to hold the rods in place. I believe there is a video on YouTube for them!
  15. Well once I see we have a few decent days in a row I will get the ol girl uncovered and do a compression test and check all the fuel lines and fittings! What is the ideal compression for it? And also I should've mentioned is a Mercury black max.
  16. I haven't checked them but will definitely look into it! Thank you!
  17. You need to check out WFN, world fishing network, I have AT&T and it's on there. I'd imagine the WFN website lists what companies have the channel. Check it out!
  18. I have looked all over craigslist and that opti is the only 150hp fuel injected motor I've found but I will check out almers, thank you! And I had the motor "tuned up" spring 2015 and it ran decent and started alright and sometimes idled good but after 6 months or so it started getting harder and harder to start and wouldn't idle unless revved up a little. I like to think I take good care of it and do proper maintenance but this is my first boat and I'm a little ignorant still. I mix all my gas 12.5 oz of oil per 5 gallons of fuel with QuickSilver oil and also run Biobor EB fuel treatment.
  19. Are you talking about the old merc I have or the opti? Also I have a compression tester so I can go ahead and test it this weekend when I have free time!
  20. I'm with WIGuide my co angler can bring as much as he likes as long as it's not in my way. I also leave a compartment open in the back of my boat so my co angler can put all his tackle in if he wants. And as far as rods I have a back rack that I used as a co angler and now let my co angler use it if he chooses. And I would definitely recommend looking into buying a back rack, I never had a boater say I couldn't use it. http://www.***.com/Bac_Rac_Rod_Rack/descpage-BACRACK.html
  21. I got one of the delay series for throwing square Bill's paired with a revo sx g3and it bombs 1.5 and 2.5s!! Love it!
  22. Well I guess I'll have the boat checked out by our mechanic and see what he thinks. Id love to be able to just go out and try to find a newer boat but that's just really not in the books right now. Thanks for the help guys!
  23. Well guys I've got an 86 ranger 373v and the old 2 150hp mercury on it has definitely seen better days, even on the hottest of days it takes 5-10 minutes to start and in the cold I'm lucky to get it going at all. im looking to get a fuel injected motor just not sure what all will need to be changed to run the new motor. will I be able to use any of the old controls or will I have to buy all new? Also will have to go to a hydraulic steering system. I found an 07 optimax 150hp with 175 hours for $4800, is that a good deal? are they good reliable motors or should I look for something else? Thanks for in advance for any help guys, it's very appreciated!!
  24. All my club tournaments are out of route u ramp so I concentrate on that area of the lake when I go up there. I've caught quite a few decent fish on that part of lake and big bass is always over 5 pounds.
  25. I have one of the new tournament pros in the 8:1 ratio and it's an awesome reel and casts a mile but I just can't seem to put down my Abu's.
