  1. Clunn is 100 percent correct. It makes a huge difference.
  2. No they are not. Different specs different parts.
  3. Buy a Lew's and outcast them all
  4. Bass pro carbonliite or Falcon Bocoo
  5. Falcon makes excellent rods. Their warranty service is amazing. My first bucco I bought 8 years ago. One of the guide inserts broke . 8 years later they sent me a new rod even though it was out of warranty.
  6. Haven't had it on long enough to comment. I have seen reviews where guys have used it all last year without issue .
  7. Or you have weak spots in your 6lb flouro.
  8. I just spooled up some 14 lb on 2 baitcasters. Can't believe how well this stuff casts. It's also really sensitive.
  9. Seguar makes good flourocarbon lines. I hated all the others. Sufix has sufix advance mono out. It's a copolymer. It has very little stretch and I really have to say it's more sensitive than flouro imho. The only thing is flouro is less visible. Sufix advance handles awesome. Try both.
  10. I forgot. But they had tubes over 8 ft because they have ocean rods. I cut mine down as short as possible. Shipping costs suck but you want rods protected.you don't need 3 inches of padding on each end.a piece of newspaper is fine.
  11. I go to dicks and I ask for any rod tubes they have.
  12. Doesn't say what guides it has or reel seats.
  13. Johnny Morris signature series
  14. Lew's tournament MB or tournament pro.
  15. I almost never get them out giving them slack.
  16. Heavy extra fast action rod .heavy flouro or braid. Set that hook and pull. The more time you fart around the more they wrap around cover.
  17. That's what they say but I never had a problem with 8 strand braids. There are plenty of good ones out there.Tuff line domin8 is my fav.
  18. The longer the rod the more tip heavy it will be no matter what.over 7 feet you will feel it. I agree st croix feels heavier to me. I just got a 7ft Johnny Morris Patriot series and was pleasantly surprised at how light the overall weight and tip weight feels. Tackle tour always comments on tip weight when they do a review. You might read some of their reviews.longer heavier action rods are going to start having more tip weight.i also will not buy a rod without holding it.
  19. I used to use Pflueger for years. I use Lew's now but have nothing bad to say about Pflueger. They are very underrated.
  20. At least 50 lb braid on a baitcaster.i would also go with a quality 8 strand braid .
  21. Excellent reels for the money.
  22. I've been fishing 52 years. I've got more stories of lost big ones than I care to remember. It still sucks when it happens. The really bad ones are the monsters you've fought and got within 10 feet of the boat and they get off. You learn to shake it off. That's how they got big .
  23. Like I said I agree. I used to post that all the time on here. Absolutely got reamed for that opinion.
  24. I agree but a lot of guys don't want the balance point to be in the center of the reel seat. They like it slightly forward of the reel seat. That would make a heavier reel balance a tip heavy rod better than a featherweight reel.i do agree it's not perfectly balanced.
