  1. I use both Sufix 832 on my flipping rod and spinnerbaits. Sufix advance mono on everything else.
  2. 50 feet on a 1oz spoon popping off the bottom.
  3. Nice fish he caught on a Ned.
  4. I wanted to like that line but it kept unraveling on me.
  5. Sufix 832 or Tufline Domin8.
  6. It has nothing to do with the line being stronger than the rod or reel drag. It had to do with the thickness. Thicker line digs in less. Thicker line takes longer to abraid or cut through than thinner line. This is an advantage in rocks and wood and also around docks.Of course 50 lb braid will break almost any rod. The point is the line can withstain more abuse. Imho it will handle better also because it digs less.
  7. Why does it make no sense? Can you please elaborate? Thicker braid will withstand abuse better than thinner braid.
  8. You pull hard on braid it can dig into the line already spolled causing casting issues. The thicker and rounder the braid the less this occurs.if you get snagged wrap the braid around a wood dowel and pull. That will keep it from digging. Never pull braid with your hands unless you want stiches.i suggest for beginners at least 50 lb braid on a casting reel and make it Sufix 832.i can get away with 30 and 20 on a casting reel but don't suggest it for beginners.Whoever says mono is more forgiving of backlash is dead wrong.Backlash is far easier to remove with braid.it also does not damage the braid.
  9. Don't know how many guys fish saltwater here. I only fish freshwater.i do use Lews reels but only the freshwater stuff. I know they are a great company with great products. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone who has used those reels will chime in. The slp can be bought at Sportsmans outfitters for $159 the slp has dual braking which is better than just magnets. I like the lfs frame better than the slp. They both have carbon drags at 20 lbs.
  10. I'm one of the weirdos Who goes all Baitcasting.use different length and action bps Johnny Morris rods with Lews reels.
  11. Good video. Been tying Palomar that way for thirty years. Never have a knot failure when done properly. When you tie it it should cinch smoothly. If not it's wrong.
  12. Use o ring get 8
  13. That senko tool came out the day after the senko. So far in Southern NY this summer the senko has been useless except for one day. It used to be a great bait.
  14. Crazy glue brush on. Or loctite brush on.
  15. If you Use braid superglue the knot it will never come off.
  16. Never ever peg my weight on Sufix 832 and have never had that issue.
  17. Probably full of dirt. Try blowing it out with compressed air in can.silicone lube might help.
  18. That sucks.
  19. Thats a no brainer. The Tournament Pro all the way. Buy it from Sportsmans outfitters . You'll understand why once you own it. The carbon drag and externally adjustable centrifugal brakes are unreal. Best reel I've ever casted or owned. That includes all my friends Shimano and diawa reels.
  20. I throw a 1/5 oz Ned rig with a Lews Tournament Pro on a bps Patriot 7 ft medium casting rod.
  21. You could call them. Or email. Did you pay for faster shiping?
