  1. Lews adjustable centrifugal systems are some of the easier systems to adjust and fish with...
  2. Yes . on bad days sometimes they win sometimes I win. It's never by a big margin though. It's not enough that I'd conclude it's due to the line. This year I finally decided to totally not worry about it.
  3. I've run straight braid for 90 percent of my fishing seasons in the past 30 years. Really haven't noticed a difference. Tough days are no easier with flouro.
  4. Tackle tour did a review on a Lews with a magnesium frame and they stated the magnesium transmits more gear feel than aluminum in any reel. I don't know how true that is but I do I know your only a few 10ths of an ounce lighter all things being equal. I'll stick to aluminum framed reels..
  5. I had the original. Had a great braking system. Gears turned really rough after a year. Got rid of it. I now am a fan of the Lews tournament pro. Similar brakes that work just as well if not better. It's also 10000 times smoother. Can be bought at Sportsmans outfitters for 139$. At their prices you could go up a level from that reel and still be around $200.
  6. $139 Lews tournament pro from sportsmans outfitters is your best bet IMHO.
  7. A 5500 c will never cast as well as a low profile with a light narrow spool when using light lures. The light spool is less prone to backlash.
  8. Try a Lews with 6 pin 27 position externally adjustable centrifugal brakes. It does everything well. .
  9. You can buy the knob separately at tackle warehouse and put it on your other reels. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lews_Custom_Speed_Shop_Speed_Dial/descpage-LHSD.html
  10. Trying to enlighten him.
  11. This is easy. Take $139 and get a Lews Tournament Pro at Sportsmand Outfitters and spend ur gift cards on something else.
  12. IMHO Lews 6 pin 27 position externally adjustable centrifugal brakes cannot be beat.
  13. I get $169 if I put it in my cart. https://www.sportsmansoutfitters.com/cart
  14. Lews tournament pro at Sportsmans outfitters for $139 . or Team Lews lite lfs for 169. Both reels 200 and up elsewhere. Guarantee both reels outcast anything you have used.
  15. None of them are better? I have to disagree with that.
  16. Lews tournament pro with externally adjustable centrifugal brakes. Turn the dial like magnets but works way better. $139 at Sportsmans outfitters. You cannot buy a better reel for the money.if you're shore fishing your not pulling deep cranks so a 6.8 or 7.5 gear should be ok.
  17. What he said and switch to 20 lb or lighter braid.
  18. I would try it. If I'm correct that reel has both centrifugal and magnetic brakes. You should be able to set it up to cast lots of different lures.
  19. I used them for years. Good reels. I switched to Lews. I like them better. You can't go wrong with a pflueger.
  20. Lews tournament pro. 139$ at Sportsmans outfitters. With its externally adjustable 27 position brake it's really easy to adjust.
  21. If you can afford it I would get the Lews tournament pro for 139$ at Sportsmans outfitters. It's 199 other places.
  22. If you don't want dig in you need to use at least 50 lb braid. I use Sufix 832. I tried 20 lb on a baitcaster but it did dig in at times.
  23. What he said. Recolor with permanent marker.
