  1. The 99 dollar LFS also has it.
  2. The lfs combo is $129 at Sportsmans outfitters. 7.5 to 1 reel. That's a deal.
  3. I love Lews but don't like the mach Crush or any other composite framed reel. I would buy the lfs for $99 and put it on a carbonlite rod. Wait until they go on sale.
  4. According to Lews it has a pinion support bearing.
  5. Theoretically a perfectly balanced rod balances in the middle of the reel seat. This would make reel weight of no consequence. But being that no rod is perfectly balanced unless you add weight then the reel does matter.the reel I was using weighs 6.4 oz. So that is fairly light yet the rod still balances close to the reel. IMHO that is not tip heavy.
  6. What don't you like about the reel seats?
  7. I would think with dc it should do it all. The only limiting factor in my eyes would be gear ratio.
  8. Ok I just checked my 7 ft medium with a Lews tournament pro on it. It balances 1 inch in front of the reel with no weights on butt end. That's hardly tip heavy. Of course longer rods would be farther up.
  9. Agreed. So maybe I need to step into the future.
  10. Ok. Lews makes awesome reels. I have the tournament pro and it's the best I've ever used including friends Shimano and diawa reels and my Abu mgx. If you get it please message me on how you like it after the summer. I'd be very interested to know. Good reviews https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lews_Custom_Lite_SLP_Casting_Reel/descpage-LCL.html
  11. I love Lews but I would not buy that reel. It has a composite frame. I don't buy any reel without aluminum as the frame. I don't care who makes it.
  12. You'd have to ask them. But you can't legally put that on a product that isn't.
  13. I would doubt it. If you break one you could ask if they would replace it. You never know. Sometimes companies have unwritten policies.
  14. Didn't really get that feeling with mine.
  15. https://www.sportsmansoutfitters.com/products/team-lews-custom-pro-speed-spin-spinning-reel https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-johnny-morris-patriot-spinning-rod $99 for the reel and $199 for the rod. You won't be sorry.
  16. Back then it was a 1 year warranty.. It depended what associate you got after 1 year was up. Now it's 10.
  17. Just got my BPS MASTER CATALOG today. I was looking through it and noticed all BPS Johnny Morris rods now have a 10 year warranty. And that is with no price increase. From the Carbonlite to the Patriot this applies. I know I'm going to pick up another Patriot for my birthday since I love the one I have. For $199 I don't think I you can do better than that. The rods are extremely light and well balanced. They have Fuji SIC micro guides which I love. They are strong too. I caught many hard pulling fish on my 7ft medium fast Patriot last year. And on top of that the Patriot is made in USA.
  18. I've seen braid go through aluminum oxide. Never seen it go through alconite.
  19. Just clean and lube it and you'll be fine. I've heard Lews service is excellent if needed.
  20. You Get the same system in the tournament pro. Yours is a nicer reel especially with the finish on it. Tournament Pro is more in my budget. People have no idea what they are missing if they have never fished one.
  21. Do you know how to read in context? I said Aluminum oxide guides are substandard garbage at that price. Nowhere in there did it say all Kigan guides are garbage. When you leave "at that price " off the sentence it is no longer in context and doesn't mean what I said. I later clarified that ANY MANUFACTURERS ALUMINUM OXIDE GUIDE WOULD BE SUBSTANDARD GARBAGE AT THAT PRICE INCLUDING FUJI. Do we get it now ? I don't care who makes the rod or the guide ALUMINUM OXIDE guides on a rod over $200 is inexcusable IMHO. I also didn't say they had to be sic. I said they should at least be alconite IMHO . ALCONITE would be fine in that range. If that rod had them I would have bought it.
  22. This is exactly why I stick with bps rods.i buy the more expensive ones but IMHO they are just as good as rods double the price.
