  1. Vicious gets great reviews 13000 yds for $50! 8 lb test
  2. I'd get a Lew's tournament pro lfs . Better than Either IMHO due to the 27 point externally adjustable brake.
  3. Get a Lew's Custom lite and get rid of your backlash issues. I've used that line and it casts really well for a flourocarbon. Either that or your casting to hard. If your gonna stay 8lb I'd get custom lite shallow spool. They are next to impossible backlash.
  4. Would never go lower than 50 on a baitcaster
  5. I second that. They may even send a tube.
  6. I used to love night fishing. Now my vision is so poor I don't bother.
  7. They are Zirconia which from what I've read is the generic name for alconite. I like the handle. Bps stopped using alconite and I hate the rods with Wynn grips so I'm trying these.
  8. Unwrapped it last night. It came in a big heavy cardboard tube. It had self adhesive bubble wrap around the middle and both ends.plastic plugs on ends were stapled and taped.plastic wrapper down the length of the rod.the rod itself is flawless. No extra glue or bent guides. Blank is perfectly straight guides are straight. Handle is foam and cork. It's a lot nicer than I thought it would be.action is heavy but not a pool stick.has a gradual tip in between moderate and fast leaning towards fast.the bottom of the blank has reinforcing weave and it goes up fairly high.. Cant wait until March to get out and give it a workout.
  9. That would be American Bait Works. The rod came today and is waiting for me to get home from the gym. I'll spool up some 15 lb basix on my new Lew's SP reel then cast it in the back yard Sunday in the snow should hopefully give me a good impression.i bought it to skip with. Also want to pitch with it. I'm hoping the action is not to heavy. Judging by the weight listed im imagining it's like a Dobyns. I'll get back to you guys on that.
  10. Prefer centrifugal only. Externally adjustable is the best in my humble opinion.it gives you the highest variation of settings. I find it next to impossible to backlash.
  11. I'll take a good externally adjustable centrifugal over a magnetic system anytime
  12. Mainly Use a 6 speed for deep cranks. 7.5 I would use for spinnerbaits and lipless and buzzbaits. Definitely asts about 15 feet further than other reels. Also has more line capacity so good for trolling a rigs and cranks.
  13. I'd like to get one someday also.
  14. Are these rods lighter than rated. 3/4 oz seems light for a heavy action. Kinda like Dobyns ratings to me. Are the rods any good. I'm hoping so because I just pulled the trigger on one.
  15. Use 50lb spooled tight. Get suffix 832 or better yet vicious no fade braid.
  16. Sorry dude but super record was miles above suntour. You just had to know how to shift.im not saying suntour was bad but it wouldn't last near what campy did. Suntour was awesome at it's price point but I still would have picked dura ace over suntour.
  17. Any rod with Winn grips sucks. They don't wear well.i would save 80 more and get a dobyns sierra with a lifetime warranty.
  18. If it does fit well send it back.
  19. Vicious No Fade Braid. Best braid made.
  20. Exchange it and leave the new one alone.get a pro to clean your reels
  21. Never said it's not a game changer.
