  1. a lot of lines do that. when first spooled they stink but as they get used to being on your reel they handle better.
  2. prespawn bass looking to make nests.
  3. I use a 6.8 to 1 reel. Just reel slow. I put a 95 mm handle on it. Also you can use the rod to move the bait just by sweeping it and reel in the slack. The slight pauses sometimes trigger strikes.
  4. i use a 7ft medium BPS patriot rod a Lews tournament pro baitcaster with 8lb sufix advance mono for ned rigs. wacky and texas rig senko or 3/8 trig worm i use a 6-6 mh fast with 14lb sufix advance mono. 1/2 to 1 0z trig 10 inch worms are on a BPS 7-6 johnny Morris signature series heavy extra fast flipping stick. i dont use spinning anymore.gave them all to my daughter.
  5. i hate to see how he maintains his car. LOL !!!
  6. your not off balance. i feel the same exact way about the handle being above and below the rod. also most spinning handles are longer and turn in a bigger circle. When i learned baitcast there were no lefty reels. WE had zebco closed face reels when i was a kid and they were righty reel handles so thats what we got used to. progressing to righty baitcast was the next obvious step. this garbage that switching hands takes time is ridiculous. if you reel lefty and cast righty you have to move your hand from the rod handle to palming position. That to me seems even more akward than just placing the reel in your left hand palm. watch any pro who uses a righty . they switch in one smooth movement before the bait even hits the water. use what you feel comfortable with.
  7. I use Lews reel oil on my Lews reels. And Lews grease on gears.
  8. BPS Patriot 7ft M fast action baitcast rod with Lews Tournament Pro 7.5 to 1 baitcast reel and Sufix Advantage 8lb copolymer.
  9. thats for gears. bearings get a drop of oil.
  10. do not use wd40 0n a reel. get quality reel lubricants.
  11. I've fished braid since about 1992. I've fished from 20lb to 80 on a baitcaster. I would never go below 50. That said I have never casted and snapped my braid in all those years even with 20lb. Something is severely wrong with the line or the setup. Throw that garbage out buy some 50lb Sufix 832 and then tell us what happens.
  12. And I hate the knot going through my guides.
  13. i would not go below 50 lb braid. also braid is easier to remove a backlash from than mono or flouro and it doesnt damage the line. just jam your thumb down and reel the line in a little then push the button and pull some line off. keep repeating as needed.i would also get rid of the power pro and go to sufix 832 or tuf line domin8.
  14. Went fishing on West Branch Reservoir yesterday from 7 am to 1 pm with my daughter. Water temperature was 52 degrees. Bass just starting to come in to make nests. We only got 3 fish with this 5-4 being the best. Caught on a 1/10 oz man mushroom head shad pattern 2.75 inch trd on Sufix Advance Mono 8 lb test with a BPS PATRIOT medium 7 ft rod and a 7.5 to 1 Lew's Tournament Pro reel. By next week we should see more of these.2nd fish is a 3-9 caught on a Rapala 1/2'oz lipless crank in shad pattern on 8 lb Sufix Advance Mono on a 6-6 Falcon Bucoo mh rod with a 6.8 to 1 Lew's LFS reel.
  15. I'm glad to see other guys using this line now. It's really good stuff.
  16. Told him the same thing
  17. tournament pro is awesome. sportsmans outfitters has for 139. any lews reel above that is also nice. definatly 6.8 to 1 for all around reel. i fish 1/10 oz ned rig with mine.
  18. I was fishing it on 20lb 832 but switched to Sufix Advance 8lb mono for abrasion resistance in rocks.had to many cut offs in rocks with braid.
